Protest the pavilion with art?

Postby Dork » Fri Jul 06, 2007 12:40 pm

All the threads about the pavilion and Business 2.0 article got me thinking - what if we created a bunch of wooden "picketers" to surround the man?

http://tribes.tribe.net/project_jericho ... d01e9eb30e

Make a bunch of mini mans, modified with mickey mouse or dollar sign heads, or carrying picket signs. Install them around the man.

Any thoughts on the idea? I could definitely crank out a few, but it seems like more would be needed to really have a real impact.

Lame? Cool? Potentially cool but too late or not enough pissed off people to get others to build their own?

So does staying home, which I'm not willing to do.

Dork - you have an excellent idea - do you realize you are creating a wooden "picket fence"?

I love it. Great idea. If you got a good start on this project and posted pictures, I bet more people would be willing to pitch in and make a few.

Only if the project is tremendously successful, or if you put a picket sign on it and leave it outside the pavillion. I'd love it if you decided to do that, btw.

I don't see why green gets all the corporate funding and PR glam. Heck, brown has been around a lot longer and has done its time. And what about yellow, the color of the sun, eh? Did the other colors even have a shot at this thing? I think not! This was an inside deal from the beginning.

Fire Balls

Postby EricMagic » Thu Jul 19, 2007 6:13 am

Art Around it may bring too much good attention to the Tech Pavillion.

How about lots of large large Fire Balls around it? It is Burning Man after all.

Hey maybe a whole new activity that fits in with other items:

    1. Burning of the Large Stick Man.
    2. Temple Burn

    3. White Hot Burning to Evaporation all of the Sell Out Type Structures like.....

Have a NICE DAY!

I think a few megaphones with fresh batteries could make a world of difference in disrupting the pavillion. Especially if the megaphones are modified with robot or alien voices and lots of feedback.

I'm using airhorns and bullhorns. And drums and everything else that makes noise.
