1st I love my cats.
Rockhounding, off-roading (would love to get a quad), stargazing (astronomy), bowling, attending any minor league baseball game (not really a hobby though), snooping around ghost towns and old mining areas, and more recently, panning for gold. The normally dry wash in Six Mile Canyon near my house was a torrent a few weeks ago and I drove up into it and found a spot and dug a 5 gallon bucket worth of dirt, sand gravel etc and take home to pan at my leisure. So far I found a pinhead size nugget and a few flakes. Not worth much with the price of gold going down, but it's fun. I'd have to find alot more......and the right buyer.
Last year, at the upper portion of Gold Canyon near Silver City I found a rock a little smaller than a football and weighs about 13lbs that is highly attracted to a magnet. It has about a one inch piece of metal protruding from it. It looks natural. I'd like to find a place to take it to see if it may be a meteorite or may be an iron encrusted nugget or just a rock. I'm no expert.
My cats are cuter than your grandkids!
