So Im at work and tellin people im going to burningman. A young guy ( who has never been to BM ) says " Its 60 percent men and 40 percent women and half of the men are gay , so should be lots of ladies to party with" I ask him " how many oercent of the women are gay? " This question crushed his dream. lol I said I dont chase women anymore but I will stroll along and let them bump into me now and then :)

Most burners figure out to just not mention BM to "default world" people.
They won't know what it is or get it, even if they have heard of it.
And the shit they've heard is usually... shit!

I had to deal with a friend's wife saying some rude & ignorant things at dinner recently. (I didn't bring the Burn into the conversation, but someone else did.) I gave her a very brief and more accurate description.

I still feel comfortable stating there is no danger of her taking a ticket away from a better-informed person with more imagination.

It is an art festival where you can do art while enjoying high desert survival camping. No, the Man is not an effigy, he is something else to burn. What does your church represent other than modified pagan rituals? Now shut up and let me have dinner. And in my case you are lucky I wore clothes at all. Oh Rumor: God could not get a low income ticket and cannot make it but "BOB" will.

It's most of the things that people think about it, and then some. Party, campout, festival, experiment, movement... etc. Just like any other city, everyone doesn't engage in every single activity - you get involved in whatever you want.

I heard that under the camouflage of the cargo cult theme and flying saucer-shaped man pavilion, actual extra-terrestrials will be arriving and attempting to mix in with humans 'in the open' as an experiment to see whether humankind is ready for public disclosure. So if you see a really amazing looking spaceship parked out in deep playa, it might be theirs.

The aliens can name the planets in the solar system.

Note: Pluto is a false indicator. Naming it as a planet does not mark you as an alien. Not naming it as a planet does not mark you as an alien.

Hehe Crypto... in my first year (2004, art theme vault of heaven) the streets were named for the planets, in order that they orbit the sun. I was surprised how many people were lost, even before the street signs all disappeared on Saturday night (back when they all would disappear).

Ah. My first year, 2002--the Floating World, they had the radials named not by time, but by degrees. So 2 o'clock was 60 degrees, 3, 90 and so on. So people were being forced to do math at burningman. Not a good idea...

One tablespoon of Playa dust per quart of camp coffee will settle the grounds, clarify it, and reduce the acidity.

So, what you're saying is that, technically, I didn't need the half pound of playa dust that blew in with the white out?

I'm all for it if that actually would happen! Bit keep in mind the Canadian minister of defense stated during a session that he has personally seen greys at one of the bases in NV . So who the hell knows. It could happen!!
