If you decide to go with the 3/4 Iko, if you have extra bi-filament tape:
after you've cut your panels and sealed the edges with aluminum foil tape, one way of adding some strength is to run an "X" on the inside surface with bi-filament tape. For the sides (and long roof panels on a stretch), run it from corner to corner. For the triangles: from each corner to the middle of the opposite side. Helps take inward bending loads. Do not know if it would be enough to prevent the panel from snapping from a really strong wind.
If the wind decides to blow, it's the 1" panels with the bi-filament power-band that's tried & true.
All bets are off for the door, windows or vents.
It's a big price difference, but look at it as assurance towards having a hexayurt for the week. Or bring a tent too.
