T.O.P. factoid #9
One evening, Lennon was with Shotton in the attic of his Kenwood home, tripping on LSD and smoking a few joints. They messed about with John's Brunnel recorders, fiddling with feedback, running recordings backwards and creating tape loops. Opening the windows for some fresh air, John and Pete began to shout whatever was on their minds at the trees outside, the recorder running. This night's lark was to later captured on "Revolution 9."

How about toasted cheese sandwiches?
If a couple of people brought electric sandwich presses and we had some loaves of bread and cheese we could have tasty, tasty treats.

Hey Doc, can we use the BDV generators or RVs for power?

You do know he doesn't actually have a generator. It's all powered by the bounces from the back of the RV...

OOooohhh!!! I have a grilled cheese sandwich maker similar to those...
it's round, and cuts off the crust when you close it.
It's the only aluminum thing left in my kitchen, but it's seasoned like the cast iron. I used it for 32 years in the firebox of the kitchen woodstove, and now find it works just fine on a gas stove. (new house)

We had one identical to it growing up. AAaaaahhhhh... the memories! :D

Great! I love grilled cheese on the playa. Now....kraft slices, velveeta or cheese whiz?

(I'm already bringing sardines and saltines and beer but I could sign up for 'cheese patrol' too).

I have a couple of those in my camp kit! Though, I haven't used them in forever.
As a kid, my mom would butter each side, place a piece of bread inside and sort of mash in to it made a bowl shape. Then crack an egg in it, put another piece of bread on top of the egg, and close it. It would make a sort of grilled hidden-egg/french toast sandwich. Where the edges are smooshed together it sort of seals the bread together and holds the egg inside.
Oddly, my square sandwich irons have much longer handles than the round sandwich irons. I've never been able to figure out why.

Sure, as long as you have a way to serve it to people. We would like to have the KISS system in effect because, let's face it, the Barbiebarians end up cleaning up afterwords and our trash disposal system is rather limited. But of course, this is actually Mel's call. She's in charge.

i don't know what KISS means, but i absolutely would take out whatever i brought in. i planned to bring REAL food before, soup would be easy, vegetarian, yummy, and pretty easy to pack in/out. not to mention, absolutely perfect with a grilled cheese dipper.

let me know mel. i'm more than happy to bring anything.

These are VERY common in Australia. We serve up jaffles (from the jaffle iron) and tea brewed in a billy all the time on camping trips.

This is another reason why you should come visit me!

Hey there - sounds perfect. Can I suggest you bring some paper coffee cups for the soup - people will have a cup but they will prob be using it for booze.

We can just put the cups in a burn bag and dispose of them that way.

If you have a crockpot you can heat up said soup at our camp - although we can probably lend you one (if you promise to clean it afterwards).

I love the idea of soup and grilled cheese!

What is this velveeta or cheeze whiz you speak of? Is this from a cow? What kind of cow..

Sorry, just jokes, I do know what those products are (not that I have even seen them on the supermarket shelves here, but i have been to Walmart). Honestly I don't care what cheese flavoured product you bring - it's all good :D

If you wanted to bring a block of good old cheap cheddar/American cheese that would be awesome.

Thanks

paper coffee cups were exactly what i was thinking. i do have a crock pot, but it's pretty small. depending on how far away i end up camping from BDV, i may just be able to heat it up at my camp and bring it over. will figure out logistics later, but i'm in for the soup.

You could also use the microwave in my RV and simply reheat it that way. That's what we do with the pizza we hand out.

I also have one of those campfire sandwich makers. I have NEVER used it. We had one when I was a tot, for camping trips. I don't have an open fire. Just a butane stove. What fun would that be? No way to burn my food or set the handle ablaze.
