Lost in Texas, but finding my way home for the first time.

Postby charlottebennett » Tue May 07, 2013 7:52 pm

I lost my father this past Sunday. At 25 years old, I feel the fire for life like never before burning to get out. I'm on my way to a home I've never seen before, to a family I have never known. Lost in Texas, I feel alone. My eyes see beauty, wishing only to share what i see with others who understand what it means to be free. From Houston to Black Rock City I will travel, I will live learn and love. Come find me at Dr. Realz mysterious wheel of uncertainty and mystical inclusion. Share your stories and experiences with me. I would love to know every one of you. I'm charlotte.

Hi Charlotte!

I'm so sorry about your father. You might find a small amount of comfort writing a note to him on the Temple. It's going to be a very pretty one. Bring a Sharpie fat enough to write on wood.

If you want to meet us, a lot of us are gonna be here . . .

ePlaya Meet & Greet
Wednesday of the Burn
6pm until at least 9pm
Barbie Death Camp & Wine Bistro (somewhere near 4:00 & E Street; stay tuned on ePlaya for exact address).

It's a potluck, so bring a bit of food, booze or ice to share. :) It's super fun.

Well, you don't have to--it's just one of the many places you will find yourself welcome. :D

Black Rock City is a very distracting place.

Thank you biblioclasm. Happy to be here. And hello to my fellow Texan 4201999. Thank you for your condolences. I hope this adventure will bring me some peace, not only from sadness for my father but from the inner demons we all face at some time in our life.

I am a first time burner as well.

I am sorry for the loss of your father.
I lost my mother in February, I was her caregiver for 3 years. After having lost both of my parents, the best condolence I received is "it sucks". And it does but you got to remember they don't want you to be sad.
I was at Arches National Park in Utah a couple weeks ago. The person who was house sitting for me sent me a pic of my mothers calendar for Feb as we have not changed her room yet. It was a pic of Arches NP. I took it as a sign from Mama that all was good.

Burning Man has been my goal for a while, and I am SO looking forward to it, seeking a catharsis, or just a damn good time. I am traveling alone at this time and I might have an extra ticket if my friend does not decide to go.
I am planning on taking an RV.

Hope to see you there.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.
