fiberglass question

Postby Bounce530 » Fri May 03, 2013 11:04 pm

I've aquired a few of these 1/4" round, 4' fiberglass poles that I want to make flag poles with, but I'm not sure of how to join them together. My first thought was something for like a fishing pole, or some such. Ideas?

First thing that comes to mind is a sleeve like tent poles have

yup, what potatomoto said. you can't really glue or weld them (likeyou can weld plastic).
alternately, you might be able to drill both sides and make a pin . but I'd go with a sleeve , prolly 1" long at least.

You could overlap them a few inches and use two metal hose clamps
choose damned if you do

If you do decide to drill it put a hose clamp around the part your drilling. That will help keep it from splitting.
