Nothing funny about cleaning gunk out of sinuses. (I've had two operations to improve airflow thru mine.) This method is perhaps a bit awkward, but it works; no special equipment required.
I did throw in the "no photos" for comical effect.

It was the very comical effect that I was referring to. As an allergy sufferer since I was a kid makes me know that it ain't fun. Right now, eyes watering and stinging all the time. Fluticasone Propionate has been working very well for the past few years keeping the sinuses and other head related orifices clear and unstuffed. 2 sprays in each nostril every day really does the trick with no side effects. This is a generic and so is quite reasonable at about $10 for a month's supply. Need an Rx

*wanders in, makes CCCP*

well, I've decided to "pull the plug" as it were, on my solar power generation system.
The "county" has broken my will to fight, with all the regulations and inspections and such. I fear opening a whole can of worms if I follow through, and for the ultimate reward of 40 bucks per month return, I can't see the angst. so, now, what to do with a 2500 watt solar generation panel.......dang it.

Finally got my act together and finished editing the final scene for my Conan fan film. I was deeply blessed to have the help of several talented individuals and the support of many fans. I am also a little proud of what I created. It's not too bad. I will put it up on Vimeo instead of Youtube.

Also, finishing week one of my new job. We make gargantuan machines that test flat panel displays. The "tool"about is the size of a The Beast, and it has a HUGE piece of granite to stabilize it. Awesomely complicated, a pleasing challenge to sort everything out.

Ygmir, maybe someone else in another, friendlier county could take if off your hands. I have a friend here in the Flatlands who got a full installation, no hassles, selling power back to P,G&E as well.

Thanks (((MDF)))

Sorry to hear about the solar array dilemma yg. It seems ashame that self-reliant people are made to jump through hoops that end up strangling worthy projects. Effort like yours should be highly encouraged by all concerned in my opinion.

thanks for the sympathy BVB, MDF, et al.
been researching. dang. if someone knew more about electronics than I (easily accomplished) , it turns out that system can work like a generator, or to create an "electric island" and power stuff. But ya gotta be able to fool the grid tie inverters into sensing grid power, and then provide somewhere for the power to go. IE: if there was a larger system, using generators, this could tie in, and work at max, reducing generator requirements. But it has to have a load and grid, to work with. Or, a battery "sink" to take excess power along with a controller to avoid over charging.

ah well....................

yeah, the county does "encourage" it, but, only at certain standards.

My issue is, with my house being old, and there "perhaps" being unpermitted structures on the property, they want tons of upgrades and permits, essentially negating any cost efficiency I might gain.
I can't blame them for wanting everything up to the latest standards. I can blame the standards for going "too far".
But,the potential can of worms, is just not worth it.

Can you make it semi-portable and take it up to the Hof? Deep cycle dry cell batteries don't freeze and the electronics don't need much space. If you made it tear down capable you could stash everything indoors during the off season.

I'd love to have that much solar to play with (planning an off grid micro home under 400 sq ft including an indoor greenhouse) but I have neither the cash or the way to ship it.

Another idea might be to break it down to 250W, or what ever would work, self contained units with charge control and batteries for sale to burners that want to get rid of their generators or a generator is overkill for.

I can think of several uses for the system . . .

Though maybe get in touch with Black Rock Solar?
I have discovered the ultimate question to life the universe and everything. "Does it burn?"

I was kind of biting my tongue until you made it back in here BN. Yes indeed, a great grand opening for two of our finest eplayans, LeChat and Karine. Music, fire spinners, lots of artsy burner type folks, and the Contraption sitting centerstage!

So I'm standing near the woodstove at one point talking to a guy about the Contraption, and to top it off, imagine my surprise when I find out I'm talking to none other than Bin Noddin! How cool is that!!

I wish you all could see LeChat and Karine's new shop, it has all kinds of space, and great equipment. They have worked hard for it, and those of you who know them know this couldn't happen to better folks!
