Is there a line you Can cross at bm?

What to wear? What not to wear? Where to find and how to make anything from goggles to fantastic pieces of playawear.

I think lines aren't crossed enough at Burning Man.

100% agreement, "unacceptable" is unacceptable.

you can always turn the channel, look away, or simply ignore...

it's fucking Burning Man, for Grumpy Cat's Sake...if you wish to shock, this probably ISNT the place to do it, unless you shock in reverse..try being 100% white bread in a whole wheat world, and you'll be noticed, and called a freak....it is human nature....HOWEVER, there is no "Line" except the tip of my nose....Physical Harm is Unacceptable at Burning Man....Opinions, Absurd Ideas, Obnoxious Jokes are all sticks and stones...and sometimes, they contain some little beauty, intentionally wrapped in ugliness.

such is ART.

it offends.

the moment it doesnt, well, i dont want to think about THAT lowest common denominator.

so do what you are gonna do, if it makes you happy...fuck it...if someone does not think it's funny, well, thats too bad, and i hope someday they do, but if not, well, hey, thats ok too.

all other pretenses about this speech being more hateful than that speech is shit.

it's all POV, so get the fuck over being offended, ESPECIALLY if you are going to Burning Man.

I hate it when we get all serious. You're all a bunch of freakin commies.

I only get offended if someone hurts a child, or any other person who can't defend themself. Then I want to break my foot off in their ass.

I'm not offended if someone wears a Nazi uniform. I just think they're an idiot. Now if I was jewish, I may feel differently.

I like Simon's comment....I want to wear what's comfortable. I do whatever the hell I want 90% of the time (and pay for it) so dressing up like some Mad Max end of the world hipster douchebag does nothing for me. Buying a costume at a Haloween store and acting "original" isn't my thing. Just give me some boots, hiking pants that I can unzip into 1970s super short shorts, and a small t shirt, and I'm happy. I participate through my actions, not by dressing up like someone I'm not. I express myself. And myself likes to dress functionally.

Dammit, I hate being serious. For once will someone post a pic of their breasts? Unless you have pancake nipples, then please no breasts. Unless you pour maple syrup on them. Mmmmm, maple syrup.

By the way, get a gravity chair. Someone suggested it so I did. Bomb-diggity. Way better for napping than the cheap folding camping chairs.

PS-got my chest waxed yesterday. It was warm and fun. And now I feel smooth.

WIth or without wax.

The only lines you can really cross are your own. You are always encourage to express yourself however you wish. As long as your friend understands that he is opening himself up to negative reactions that may or may not effect his experience... Let him wear whatever he wants. And by the way... This is an important question and taking shit about not being able to spell swastika is childish and uncalled for. Who cares?

Her "friend" knows all about opening up to negative reactions. It's been his hobby for some time now. Sort of a decades long social experiment/twisted sense of humor. Though this particular instance is not so much on purpose. I don't trip when I see a Hippie. I might, when they open their mouth, but I keep my personal offenses in perspective. I never gave any thought, to what eplaya responses would be to a jacket... I don't really care.. I thought we covered this several years ago, when I mentioned bringing my Stahlhelm and Pickelhaube to BM. But, it was brought up, by my busy body gf. So be it.

I think that this really depends on a number of things.

If he wears a right-facing swastika earring on his right ear, then he is a national socialist.

If he wears a left-facing swastika earring on his right ear, then he is reminding us that we should aim for liberation through enlightenment, and not rebirth.

If he wears a right-facting swastika earring on his left ear, then he is a homosexual.

If he wears a left-facing swastika earring on his left ear, then he is offended that we still have to have this conversation.
