Sober on the Playa: Anonymous Village

Postby mournlight » Tue Mar 05, 2013 9:39 pm

Hey, all -
I dug around four years ago about this time of year and found out that AV existed, and I knew then I was going to Burning Man. I've had a fantastic three years and look forwards to this fourth. What a fantastic community. We had well over 100 with us last year.
The info contained here is still relevant: viewtopic.php?t=23575#p364869

You can still find a lot of info here: www.burnanon.org (though it needs a bit of updating.)

We're also on facebook.

PM me anytime.

See you in the dust!

Thanks for posting! I get asked about this every once in a while and have linked you guys, but I didn't know how current the info was. Glad to know this camp is flourishing. :)

Any suggestions for folks looking for meetings, but not a sober camp? The missus is newly sober, doing great, but is hoping to find some good meetings on playa.

The Hokey-Pokey people have meetings that you don't have to be a member of the camp to attend.

And, you don't need to be a "member", or camp with AV to go to the noon meetings held there. Cosmic meetings, simply cosmic.

Where is Anonymous Village?

False Idol near 6:00

Our shared facilities

(Huge) Meeting Tent
Hospitality Tent (Coffee 24/7)
Multipurpose Hexayurt
Solar Shower
Shame Shanty (tell your best drinking story and WIN A PRIZE!)

How do I join the camp?

Please contact Erin at: learn_thompson@hotmail.com

or communicate with her on Facebook

https://www.facebook.com/groups/50738475350/

Please donate to our Village: http://www.bombtom.com/ donate.html

We also love refugees! Even if you are camped elsewhere, and you decide it is too triggering, or you would just rather be with us, you can pack up and move in with us anytime - please check in at Placement

Note: You should NOT camp with us if you plan on using drugs or alcohol while at Burning Man (even if drugs and alcohol aren't your addiction). Anonymous Village needs to stay a safe haven from that influence. We are a clean and sober camp… period.
