Hello from London!

Hello from London!

Postby Suzylove » Sun Jan 20, 2013 2:59 pm

Hello all

Will be a virgin at this year's Burning Man and am looking for some fellow seasoned burners to join up with :)

Anyone here run an open camp or also from London and heading out in August?

Let me know!

Hi Suzylove, Welcome to ePlaya!!

I'm in Canada, but I am pretty sure there are many burners from the UK. Perhaps you can get in touch with a regional rep from Europe?? http://regionals.burningman.com/eu_index.html, I found it very useful to get local burner guidance and assistance.

ePlaya has a lot of good, hidden advice. The easiest way to find an answer is to google: eplaya and your question, like "eplaya traveling from europe"...

Perhaps, I'll see ya on the playa

Hey Suzy, welcome! Hang around here on ePlaya a while and you will get to know a number of people and camps. Some of our postings are useful, while others are just for fun. There is a high level of "snark" here (sarcasm etc.), but don't take it personally if you see any -- it's considered sport here.

Hi Suzy!

You can look under the 2013 Theme Camps (especially a month or two from now when it gets busier) and join a camp even if it's not a London camp. It's nice to be able to join a local camp for obvious reasons, but it's not a must. Hell, joining a camp isn't a must either. But it's often more comfortable for the international traveler.

Welcome. :D

You might want to have a chat with graidawg. He's the most active Londoner on this board.

hi Fellow londoner, lonodon is definately the best place to be flying from a plethora of airports to fly from and too. Reno is the most convenient destination and easiest to get a ride to BRC organized from.

the rest is up to you basically but if you need advice or suggestions ask away, we have a good crop of brits, scots and irish coming this year. make yourslef known on here and you should be fine. DJ's are especially welcome

Hey Suzy, Welcome to eplaya!
It seems that in the last couple months a handful of folks from Ireland, Scotland, and England have all joined ePlaya. Maybe you call can sorta help each other in some form or fashion.

And don't listen to this guy, he has no idea what he's talking about. Everything on ePlaya is very very serious Business!!!!!!

Hello and welcome to ePlaya! If you've not read the Survival Guide and First Timer's Guides you'll definitely want to do that, and check out this thread for info on joining camps, or this one if you're thinking about starting and leading a camp of your own.

This is brilliant, thanks for the warm welcome guys and advice.

Not fussed whether I join a London camp or not but thought that logistics would be much easier if so. In any case, I have all the direction that I need so will check out the other posts and try and link up with fellow burners from the UK.

See you all in August!

Welcome and best of luck to you on your adventure
:)

Many travel from London, find a camp that suits your needs and link in with people here.
If I can help in any way, just ask... I'm working through the logistics myself and may be able to help some way

Hi Suzy,
Looks like your in the same boat as me - first timer from the UK trying to sort out logistics for this year. I'm from Birmingham though, don't think we've got as active a scene as London.

See you on the playa
