Question to the larger group here. Does anyone ever think he is kidding when he makes these pronouncements? I mean after the first few times when the conceptual Simon is still percolating in your brain.

Well, he is *literally* not kidding.

Is he *literally*, LITERALLY, not kidding?

I do not know. I feel that we have achieved a state of total and absolute sarcasm.

Morning peeps! I woke up way too early today. I don't do well on 5 hours of sleep. Have a lot on my mind. A nice mild cuppa coffee, and a egg over-medium on wheat toast sounds good right now, and maybe a toaster strudel!
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

I confess. I had some Darjeeling again this morning. I can't help it. It tastes so good with a pair of lightly scrambled eggs and a tiny pastry with orange juice.

But I am driving 300 miles today, and with coffee maniac as companion, I guess we'll stop at the local coffee shop for some supplies.

The dripping just stopped in the kitchen ... time to get that cup of camel colored creamy coffee goodness.

I would get an espresso machine, but what I really love is steamed milk. Not sure those home machines do that we'll enough to not have serious buyers remorse.

One cup of coffee down, a bowl of cereal, and now I'm ready to brave the dreaded mall!

Physical and psychological addiction can result from excessive caffeine intake. In an interview, Roland Griffiths, a professor in the departments of psychiatry and neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, said that studies had demonstrated that people who take in a minimum of one hundred milligrams of caffeine per day (about the amount in one cup of coffee) can acquire a physical dependence that would trigger withdrawal symptoms that include headaches, muscle pain and stiffness, lethargy, nausea, vomiting, depressed mood, and marked irritability.[4] Griffiths strongly believes that caffeine withdrawal should be classified as a psychological disorder.[4] Through his research, withdrawals occurred within 12 to 24 hours after stopping caffeine intake and could last as long as nine days. Caffeine consumers are often more apt to consume to waive off the withdrawal symptoms than to enjoy the product.[5]

Anakin Skywalker: Master, sir, I heard Yoda talking about midi-chlorians. I've been wondering...what are midi-chlorians?
Qui-Gon Jinn: Midi-chlorians are a microcopic lifeform that reside within all living cells and communicates with the Force.
Anakin Skywalker: They live inside of me?
Qui-Gon Jinn: In your cells, yes. We are symbionts with them-
Anakin Skywalker: Symbionts?
Qui-Gon Jinn: Life forms living together for mutual advantage. Without the midi-chlorians, life could not exist, and we would have no knowledge of the Force. They continually speak to you, telling you the will of the Force. When you learn to quiet your mind, you will hear them speaking to you.
Anakin Skywalker: I don't understand.
Qui-Gon Jinn: With time and training, Annie, you will. You will.

No, Lucas, no! Don't explain it away! The force is magical, an indescribable spiritual energy, intrinsic to everything.

Its like... like... its just like coffee - and the magical energy found within. Magical energy that we *need* to survive. You can't explain that with scientific terms.

Caffeine's stimulative effects hail from both a reduction in the obstruction produced by adenosine and a constraint of neuronal activity.[1] There are four known adenosine receptors; A1 and A2a are the two subtypes that caffeine (theoretically) antagonizes. Adenosine A1 receptors are presynaptic and reside in many areas of the brain, including the cerebral cortex and hippocampus, where they inhibit the release of dopamine, glutamate, and acetylcholine.[1] Caffeine antagonizes benzodiazepines as well, though it is weaker than that of the adenosine receptors. Caffeine can interfere with the effects of concurrently consumed benzodiazepines.[2]
