The one food that can survive nuclear war--Twinkies--is now gone.

on a real note... things are getting a bit scary out there. on the 21st things will happen. As I have thought for a while I think our power grid in the world will be shut down due to a CME from the sun. We just avoided a big one a few days ago. But they have said we will get one in the next year or two. I think it will be next month.

Locked video

Just saw a speech by Romney where he took his anti-Earth position.

I have to give him credit.
He didn't take many positions, but when he does, it's a doozy!

Look out, Lex Luther!

As gyre pointed out, the FB vid's not playing (perms issue, perhaps). The one we 'just avoided' was large compared to what we've been getting recently, but nowhere near big compared to what we typically get during solar max or have seen several times in all our lifetimes. I'm all for a catastrophic CME screwing with the grid, but at this point in the cycle it's far more likely we'd get a gamma burst from any other direction in space than we'll get something really beefy out of Mr. Sun.

I still think that if the Mayans end up being onto something (as they have been on so many occasions), it would be as a result of an impact from a rogue planet, asteroid/comet, or possibly a gamma burst - those are all things that could have been foretold with precision and accuracy if you had the crazy math and astronomy skills that their ancients possessed or had access to through a visiting advanced civilization. Regardless of how it plays out, it's fascinating stuff.

ok here we go. PS i took off work the 21st. Not risking it lol. I am not sure if i have said it before but one thing i find intesting that the sun and the earth will line up with the center of the galexy. No the earth does this yearly but the sun and the earth is VERY RARE! not to mention the planets alignment. But the Karington Event is more likely to be the 2012 prediction but on a larger scare...earth power outage, knock out the satalites, meaning no air travel..... check out the lower video. I respect this guy quite a bit.

I just hope BMOrg doesn't announce the new ticketing procedures before that date, so that we can at least be spared that before we all die.

Wait... no... I understand now...

The ticketing procedure announcement itself is the great apocalyptic event foretold by the Mayans!

A great, unending deluge of ticket solutions will flood the forum...

They only needed $140,000 at one time.
You'd think hollywood would snag the publicity from it.

From one of the articles linked:
http://www.jewish-theatre.com/visitor/a ... icleID=424

Among the 2,500 extras DeMille brought with him for three weeks of filming were 250 Orthodox Jews from Los Angeles. Most of them, immigrants from Eastern Europe, didn't speak English. Yet for them, the silent "Ten Commandments" was more than a movie.

"These Jews streamed out of the great gates with tears running down their cheeks, and then without prompting or rehearsal, they began singing in Hebrew the old chants of their race, which have been sung in synagogues for thousands of years," wrote Los Angeles Times reporter Hallett Abend.

According to syndicated Hollywood columnist Jack Jungmeyer, the Jews chanted "Father of Mercy" and "Hear O Israel." He heard one of the older Jews say to a crew member, "We know this script - our fathers studied it long before there were movies. This is the tale of our beginnings. It is deep in our hearts."

An elderly woman, overcome with emotion, fell to her knees and shook a fist at the gates of Pharaoh, weeping and casting sand on her head.

There is a docko about his last expedition.
Some believe he never intended to return.

The consequences of these myths and stories are far reaching, profoundly affecting WWII and resulting in resolutions to preserve artifacts during wartime.

The book and film Lost Horizon is one of the most well known stories, but there are thousands, some true.
Green Mansions is probably related.
