I believe you're making an assumption there. And a generalization, which are always wrong.

And. You are assuming that generalizations are ALWAYS wrong.

The key word is "always" - which is... usually a mistake. There are ALWAYS (oops) usually exceptions.

Don't assume I'd have sex on the playa!

I keep my temple clean!

Well...at least there are paths through the filth to pretty much anywhere you'd want to go in my temple. You'll need to give me a heads up if you want something from the basement though.

I usually assume they are going to be shocked.

I wonder how anyone thought of mixing two bland things (peanut + butter) together?

Shame on your teachers!

Lack of spices, like most places through most of history.
And peanuts are an efficient energy source.
No butter involved, it is 'butter' as a description.

Have you had good peanut butter?
It's usually heavily salted.

Try corn as a diet, then try peanut butter.

Peanut butter isn't important.
History is.

India produces 85% of the spice consumed worldwide, over three billion pounds a year.
You can't underestimate the power of boredom.

Hmmm... all I said was that people assume I like peanut butter and I don't.
If I accidently added jelly butter to the peanut butter history, my bad.

I wouldn't be too surprized if you had never had peanut butter.

Just surprized you aren't aware of how strongly most of the world has craved flavor at times.
Not too far back, farmers in this country were surviving on corn and bread during the winter.

I can't imagine.
I can develop a craving in a week.

I tried malta goya recently.
Didn't like it.
Tried it again, very cold on a hot day, working.
Loved it.
Tried it with spicy food, even better.
Went crazy trying to find it after that.
Finally found it in a vietnamese grocery with imported japanese sodas.

A new flavor!

Oddly, walmart carries malta india, but not malta goya.

Spice is valuable now, in our current world, full of variety.

Imagine how driven you would be if you had no choices.
That was the state of the world once.

It drove exploration and trade like nothing else.

of course. any cursory knowledge of world history tells us the spice trade drove much of the events of historic times.

the dots I can't connect are your last few statements and how you got there from Whoosh not liking peanut butter.
I love following, or trying to, your logic path here. but, you've lost me.

It wasn't a response to her not liking it, but being baffled that it was conjured up in the first place.

I was only surprized because you clearly think things through, and are obviously highly educated.

It seems quaint how incredibly valuable spice was at one time, but it illustrates a powerful motivation.
