What are you doing for SF Decompression!?

Post by CarrieSnarf » Tue Sep 18, 2012 11:07 am

Permits from the government are pending, but it looks like we'll be making grilled cheese for you kids at Decompression. AND, as it's local and not such a logistical challenge- we'll be adding some extra special goodies! AND since the weather will be what it always is in SF, I'll be wearing those costumes that didn't quite work in the dust. AND if we really get our shit together I'll post the plans for our camp projects next year!

Decompression holds a special place in my heart. In 2011 I couldn't go to Burning Man. We had just moved in a new place and finances were tight etc. The event had come and gone. It wasn't even on my radar, but out the door I go one Sunday morning- have to walk the pooch and there, in basically my front yard, is a shirt cocker. If that's not a slap-in-the-face wake up call I don't know what is. I looked around and TADA! Burning Man had come to my front door. Tutus and art and even the goddamn shirt cocker- It was all a wonderful gift.

Possibly representing Apokiliptika, not sure if Tovarich BB will be there. Possibly working with B.E.D.

Probably leaving about dusk... And I don't even have to go to work the next day!

Pleased to present "Borealis" a light sculpture* in Espirit Park.

*really just the left-over bits from the "Aurora" tree (2011), but kinda cool nonetheless.

Looks like I'll be joining some of the Airship Victoria crew & seeing how much damage we can cause. Probably a lot, most of it to our own livers...

I'm trying to corral an E Playa MnG at the big tree in the center of the park at about 3PM. I am planning to have a sign so that E Playans can spot us. So far, I know that Gren, YG, Jackass and I will be there. Come one come all. I guess that name tags might be a good idea. Anyone else has thoughts, let me know and let's do it!!!

I don't mean to be so glum... but yesterday's news was a real blow for me, and I'm thinking that maybe it's time my life does something besides the burns.

With luck, actually going. I missed the burn this year, but it looks like my ship will be up for fleet week and I will be off!
