Nope, just an opinion. I've seen worse in here. I think ignoring you is the best thing to do!

It doesn't appear that she actually called you any names, she was making a point that she can call you those vile, terrible things. I think that would be a problem if she actually did officially call you a drooling, butt-licking puke face and I might have to remove that post. I will consult with other mods.

*sigh*

I guess my point got missed. I apologize.

I wasn't really asking for maryanimal to get banned.

I would've hoped she might've seen what she was doing by herself.

I would've appreciated it if the mods had stepped up and asked her not to sling personal arrows, however disclaimable as 'just an opinion', without being asked.

However, I'd just as soon have those types of things be on public record - rather than have the mods delete it - so that other people know the type of person she is. Basically, the same thing I'm asking for in general. I'm not a fan of censorship.

A self-generated apology would've been nice.
An apology after being talked to by the moderators, less so.
A non-public apology? Well, what do you think that's worth?
What're your opinions of Rush Limbaugh / politician style 'apologies', which are pretty much anything but actual apologies? The same? Different? Significantly different?

If everything gets swept under the carpet - then nothing gets addressed, and nothing gets improved. And people have to pry into closets, and whisper-monger amongst themselves in order to try to determine anything.

In any case, I've stated what I wanted to state (in both issues), and it appears that I understand how people want things dealt with; out of sight & out of mind.

Maryanimal, I would just as soon have heard about your EA pass flakes/gotten their names onto my avoid list, as had this interaction with you. I'm sorry you didn't feel like sharing that (via PM - since it's verboten publicly) so I could avoid those problem people.

Peace.

While you're looking for forgiveness within yourself -- without naming names, I'd start by putting the question to your group's contact list as to what they collectively suggest you might do, if anything.

Oh, and Death to America.

I've posted a copy of what I posted to ePlaya to my regional list. Basically I asked people to PM me.

Well that thread has been restricted, but if you were using that thread to advertise your site, all I can say is HOW FUCKING STUPID OF YOU. If you can't post it here, what ever would have lead you to believe you could advertise it here?

Now doubt ender wants everyone to mind his business. Personally, I try to mind my own business and stay out of everyone else's business. A person's, a group's or a camp's business should be kept within those individual boundaries.

What you do or do not do with your camp is none of my business. Stop taking yourself so fucking seriously and keep your business to yourself! What I do and whom I work with in my camp is my business.

If everybody would just mind their own business and stop trying to lay their short-comings on everyone else, this would be a much happier world. Likewise, the thinking that by slandering others in the public square is doing anybody a favor is absurd. We don't want or need to know who your do-nothings are; we all have enough of our own and have the balls to tell them to their face instead of brandishing their heads on a stick in the town square.

The OP really seems to lack very necessary management skills required to run a camp. Holding someone accountable is not waiting a month and looking for revenge. Any problems should have been addressed and resolved on the playa. If you expect people not take advantage of a EA pass you set your self up for problems. It's a sneak peak pass or a party before the party pass. It's your job to find the right people to voulenter. you faild at your job. take responsibility and learn from YOUR mistake. People are opportunist you have to expect this and Plan for it. Don't hang out your camps dirty laundry it makes you look really bad.

Sounds like you had a rough time of it, that part sucks, but stamping your feet and name callin aint gonna fix your burn, that really was up to YOU!

I so agree! If everyone posted the names of individuals who flaked, or didn't pull their weight, or did something "wrong" at some point, what would such a blacklist accomplish? Would all the camp leads scrupulously check the OP's hall of shame before granting EA passes? No. Most likely it wouldn't go any further than eplaya and the damage to the community at large would be disproportionately bad. People don't come to burningman to be judged, shamed, or alienated, let's leave that to the default world...

I'm puzzled by why anyone would give EA passes, or really anything of importance, to people who has not already demonstrated responsibility in the past? You know, "reputation" and all that?

Am I missing something here? Do we really need lists for this kind of thing?

Or maybe we do:

How about instead we have a blacklist for morons who can't properly select others for EA passes? Why are such people in any position of administrative responsibility? I think blacklists for those people would actually conserve the passes better than blacklisting the flakes.

I agree! The OP clearly did not have a back up plan in place. In other words, EA passes were given out to disorganized whiners. Surely, the org should take measures to publicize the names of these individuals so the community at large can know who they're dealing with. We have a right to know!
