Howdy!

Howdy!

Postby RoBart » Thu Sep 20, 2012 9:04 am

Hi, humble and warm greetings.

New to this, but warn and experienced to that. I'm dropping by and seeking to contribute to the community in some tiny way. I'm a concept artists and designer by trade and currently work days doing matte paintings, concept art and environment design for film and games. It's nearing time to express some design physically rather than digitally. I'm hoping to push some of my design skill towards the table, so it was time to join and started reading. I figure lurking is not quite participating, so this is my formal notice that I am officially lurking until I have some content decent enough to contribute ;).

Cheers,
R

Welcome to the boards, R!

I'm sure there will be lots of opportunities for you to share your art. The murals outside of Center Camp come to mind immediately if you're looking to do a single image. Of course I'm sure many art projects and camps could make use of a concept designer.
When he lights his streetlamp, it is as if he brought one more star to life, or one flower.
When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
That is a beautiful occupation.

Welcome to eplaya.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

completely unconcerned.
"Savannah" I like it . . . it makes us sound forward-thinking, and not at all like trailblazing, professional-level procrastinors.

Wow, I'm already learning. I watched Halcyonstn's video on the tubes, about 'gifting tips' and it really opened my eyes. ..When I first heard about the concept, it completely occurred to me that gifting was basically bartering. How wrong I was. ...how the hell did I lose the real concept over the years.
