What the fuck are you doing with that in your cabinet? You should have finished up the course of treatment when you took them. and using it now, when you don't have a full course of it, and when you don't even know that it's bacterial, not viral, is just breeding more super bugs.

Amen fishyfriend, using meds for something that may not fix the problem is not a good idea. I have a dr's appointment on friday.
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Hantavirus has a 38% mortality rate. But you'd be so sick from the fever and the muscle pain, you'd not be posting about a cough on eplaya.

Sounds like a possible bacterial bronchitis, then. Unless you have about two weeks worth of antibiotics, prepare yourself for it to come back much worse than before and unresponsive to antibiotics in a few days. Go to the doctor.

i have ear eczema so i get infections a few times a year from scratching at them. i only take half my meds and i am ok. i have always been like this with my meds. for anything i have.never had an issue with it or anything else flaring back up. i think taking all of it is very much over medicating. I am not a huge fan of modern meds. everyone's bodies are different though and this works for me.

OK, but remember it's not your body we're talking about. It's the bodies of the alien invaders, the bacteria that have entered your body and set up occupation. You can get away with ignoring medical science for a while, but someday you'll flip the coin once too many.

Or, you know, coincidence. I cant help thinking that a week's reprieve from late-night partying and playa dust might have been a big factor.

TTG, please listen to the good people who are telling you to be careful with antibiotics. It's not about differences between your body and somebody else's; it's about differences among bacteria. When you don't take your full course of meds, you allow the survival of any stronger bacteria that may have come about by mutation. You're basically turning your body into a super-bug-evolution-acceleration machine. What you're doing is risky not only to your own health but to that of other people, especially those whose immune systems aren't as strong as yours. PLEASE read (or talk to your doctor) about drug-resistant bacteria and why the willy-nilly use of antibiotics is so dangerous.
If you want drama to stop following you everywhere, try letting go of the leash.

That's always what I've been taught about antibiotics by every single doc I've ever been to.

While no doubt the irresistible scratching is the beginning, recurring infections could technically a sign that you probably should've been finishing your drugs (otherwise the doc wouldn't have prescribed you that number!) and that not doing so could create stronger, more resistant bacteria.

But don't take it from us--take it from your doc. And read the literature that comes with your drugs. Google "Why should i finish my antibiotics?"

Taking advice from the peanut gallery can be hard. I do know you hate being lectured; you get enough of that at home. Luckily, we can't force you to listen. It's your life.

I love being lectured when I'm pretty sure it's not bullshit. As an engineer, finding out that I've been doing something wrong is sometimes equivalent to not killing people.

One last try, for science's sake.

http://www.sciencedaily.com/articles/a/ ... stance.htm

You're special, but your body is a mechanism, pretty much the same as the rest of us humans. Not so special. You're doing yourself no favors in the long run. The research is not made up, and folks who abuse antibiotics have created the super-bug nightmare. That would be you, in part. Recurring infections? Proof positive.

Ten days of Prednisone and a five day regiment of Azithromycin. ...and the doctor is very interested in going to Burning Man - especially after I told him he could probably get a discounted or free ticket by volunteering his services as a doctor.

Mind the road rage when the Prednisone kicks in. Seriously. Been on it ~4 years, thankfully I'm down to a minimal dose now and learned to manage.

For me and some o0ther burner friends of mine CocaCola fixes a mild case of lost voice or playa throat/lung gunk.

Get well soon Geopyder!

I took prednisone a few times for my bad back, it made me feel like an 18 year old for about a week! Too bad it's too dangerous for long term use for most peeps.
