Thanks AntiM, there are 90 of them and I only need them for our camp dinner on Friday. I was going to put them in a plastic bin I got to put into the cooler and keep stuff dry. It sounds like that could work. There is already moisture in the bags though. Should I air them out before packing in cooler?

I wouldn't. If they are factory sealed, then they are free from mold spores bacteria etc. They will be fine. A little moisture wont hurt, though putting them in the fridge even now would probably help.

Think of it this way. Wonder Bread, sealed and in the bag has a shelf life of weeks but opened bread gets moldy in a few days.

Finished my online traffic school, not exactly burn related, but it's due August 28th so I was happy to get it done and out of the way for the MAJOR packing undertaking that will occur this weekend.

Tomorrow the van goes to Best Buy for a stereo install. New speakers and an aux jack for my ipod! Yay!

I am starting to really feel guilty about leaving Monday when my son will have his first day of 8th grade on Tuesday. My mom and his older sister will be there for him, but it's not lessening my guilt. :(

The final packing is done.

Foxfur has only one orange vest?

I would have thought that there'd be at least one back up, plus a tuxedo...

Welded up a bike rack for my Jeep. Also welded some washers on top of 2-foot pieces of 1/2" rebar to turn them into giant nails.

Bolts to support the wheels of crappy bike added:

A strap on each wheel to the cross beam, and one strap to the vertical beam should be plenty secure.

Someday I will put on sliding adjustable wheel pockets and maybe a bike that costs more than the raw materials for the rack!

Sewed all the EL-wire to my new blue fur coat (also the led lights from my old blue fur coat)...had forgotten how long hand sewing takes...sewing machine has spoiled me rotten.
Charge the walkies we'll use around Reno in case we need to split up...or with our camp caravan-ers.

Printed some signs for our different camp trash receptacles...now just need to laminate and hole punch them.

Best thing yet: Aunt Flo FINALLY showed up. And barely just in to be gone by the time Gates open. So at least that is out of the way...I don't remember the last time I took so many test ever...

Printed all the forms I need to have with me. Ordered a cooler to pick-up in Reno. I broke the sewing machine needle last night and I am heading to get a few more or the jacket will never get done.

I keep a "motel" bag that has my work gloves, goggles, shade hat, extra roll of 1 ply TP, and dust mask in it. It lives within arms reach on the ride from Reno to BRC.

And my item for today was starting to sew the El wire on my tails. It takes a looooooong time to hand sew this stuff. Fishing line is not as easy to work with as thread.

Today's things are/were bacily security for the house, other then having to futz with some lights on the bikes, and repacking some totes.
I am going over some things with the house sitter, and went to the police station to set up the house "walk arounds" A free service provided by the police volunteers, where they come by and check the screens, door locks and such.

Purchased and depackaged all foods. Scored a sweet winged-unicorn child-size jacket at a thrift shop for $1 - gonna attach it to my bike with the wings on the handle bars and the arms leading down to the front wheel. Also got a battery-powered radio, yet another pair of goggles, and a portable, pump-pressurized personal mister at said thrift store. Also-also, sunblock and a small basin to wash in.

All major items labeled with my name and contact info.

Got a call about post-burn hotel arrangements; that's settled. :D

Working on four-way communication to get the bike from the gifter to the bike transporter via a friend back home; it should be leaving SoCal by the end of the day Saturday, at which point it's outta my hands anyhow.

Baked a cake.

Helped my lovely wife get her bike all furry. Also preparing the stereo system for it. Fixed the scary sound in the front brake in the '58 Chevy wagon which is being our transport.

Does editing the to-do list count?
