Rope at Burning Man: Is Burning Man a Pro Rope Culture?

Postby eLPea » Fri Jul 27, 2012 8:28 pm

Do we emphasize the nylon twists and braids to the point of objectification?

Do we over-promote the benefits of knots and hitches and thus abuse their use?

Are we ignoring the benefits of the consenting union of two sides of the simple ratchet strap?

Knots are great! I use more twine than rope though.

Having been the victim of rope I find this so offensive that I must ask you to get knotted.

Cable ties and snoopy loops or nothing (and maybe a torch I made in my shed but that's a tale for another forum)
