Postby rodent » Wed May 16, 2012 10:28 am

Come one, come all!! Step right up for the most caffeinated show on Earth!! Gothy, creepy and strange, the Dark Carnival has come to town. Hoping to be placed in the 3:00 plaza we will be providing FREE coffee to all as well as a performance stage. Come join the circus and show off your talents!! Keep your eyes peeled for the Gothic Fashion Show, The Steam Punk Vaudeville Night and any manner of oddness throughout the week. If any participants wish to schedule a particular performance, please contact Rodent, head Ringmaster.

To help fund this shindig we are selling travel mugs through our website http://www.darkcarnivalcafe.com and remember, if you show up with one of our mugs you get first in line for coffee!!!

thanks for the interest everyone. We're now officially listed, lets hope we get placed at 3:00!!

We did an embryonic test of the camp over last weekend at a big private party and lots of people loved us and the concept.

We're now supa-excited and motivated to get this done. It won't be a matter of "if" but "how well"!!

Cool, if you're at three and Apok is at three we'll be neighbors...

This is almost as good at the ticket lottery!

So, not to judge if this is what you meant to reference, but don't be surprised if your camp name gets you visited by lots of under-caffeinated Juggalos http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Carnival_(Insane_Clown_Posse).

Maybe you can turn them?

Firstly, crazy dark clowns that want to get drunk and fuck?!? nooooo, not at Burningman!!! **smerk**

Secondly, I have two ways to shoo them away if I wanna.

#1. play Dead Can Dance and Tori Amos and bore them do death

#2. play Combicrist and Thrill Kill Kult and scare the shit out of them

worse comes to worse, I got friends at Death Guild. I'll just tell them that there is a black and white clown pinata party going on :)

yeah, Something Wicked this way Comes is definitely an influence in what we're doing. A little bit of the HBO Carnival show, a little bit of the Carnival from Heroes TV show, a little Rob Zombie, a little Joker from Batman, ect ect ect...

also, we are looking for static art to add to our space, much the same way that the Center Cafe does. Painted works to be hung, sculpture to be displayed. We may not have tonns of room but we'd love to hear your proposals.

You will need to bring the means to secure your art, either hanging from our 9 foot high, 1" conduit shade structure or secure your sculpture from the wind.

I've often wondered about that part of BRC. It seems like its on the edge of the universe.

Not that its a bad thing, of course....
