R.I.P. Jess Blaze Smith. Your turned 30, 4 days ago and last night you left us. You were a shining light here in Reno. Former Controlled Burn member, Member of Jub Jub.
For everything you did, never relenting to get the latest news out, the best bands in and all around best promoter Ive seen locally.

You will be terribly missed.

Damnit all, I was just going to call you and beg for PR help with CB, you helped put CB on everyone's page!

Carroll Shelby, 89. Creator of legendary sports cars, most if not all of them well beyond my pocket book. But he still made some awesome shit.

Remembering dear friend, fellow artcartist, and long time burner, Charlie Russell (Cinnebar Charm) Chasterus. He left this dimension one year ago yesterday and is greatly missed. Other ArtCar brethren missing from our flock: Tom Kennedy, Marilyn Dreampeace, and Slim. All gone now but remembered with love and gratitude.

Kev was really good people, he will be missed.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing in Real Life of the man known in Second Life as Kev Sweetwater earlier this week..

Kev was known by many people within the BURNING MAN Community in Second Life as a member of the BURN2 Department of Mutant Vehicles and as the past leader of the Department of Public Works. Kev was a friend to us all, a dedicated Burner, and someone who was there with a ready joke or insightful statement on what it means to Burn.

Kev’s original application to BURN2 team says it all. In his words, “ To me the biggest part of my second life is my desire to volunteer to help other volunteers learn and grow more and have a enjoyable time...”

Kev was a man who loved the Playa and what the Burning community stands for. Please join us in celebrating his Second Life on Saturday, May 19th, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. PDT on Burning Man- Deep Hole. At 7:30 p.m. PDT we will have a small burn in honor of Kev.

Burning Man - Deep Hole

If you would like to contribute to a photo memorial please send Second Life snapshots to Marianne McCann.

Please respect the confidentiality of the family. Memorials may be made to: http://standup2cancer.org

In deep sadness,

BURN2 Core Team

None of you knew him, But my very good friend John Storr-best did not wake up from his heart operation. He was a fine man and never took a step back when faced with a challenge. he looked very much like asterix and like the cartoon character had enormous strength both physical and mental, a long term diabetes sufferer he had been on the waiting list for a new heart, lungs and pretty much every organ. He was extremely intelligent, generous and loyal. i won't mourn him because he has gone on to a great adventure. i will miss him he was truely a great friend.
completely unconcerned.

Another unknown to the burner community was Martin Conelly. A fine contractor and father, he took his life one week ago. No one will know the reasons you felt death would be a better alternative than life, but we do know that life was better with you in it.
Drugs may take you down the road to nowhere, but at least its the scenic route.

Aww...

Here's an article explaining the story behind the video. Sounds like Mr. Khil was kind of a cool guy.

Like most viral videos, the clip popped up everywhere, and was comedically edited together with footage from TV shows such as “Star Trek” and “Lost.” It also lead Khil to gain the nickname, “Mr. Trololo,” which is based on the sounds he sings in the video.

“I love it,” Khil said. “People [are] doing parodies, having fun. It unites them.”
If you want drama to stop following you everywhere, try letting go of the leash.
