Eridu Society presents...

Image

A Black Rock City delicatessen, serving up good ideas, bad ideas, and every other kind of idea imaginable from our playariffic deli counter (decorated with an assortment of plush deli meats and cheeses). Also visit the Lofty Thoughts Lounge, an elevated chill space to view the city surroundings and relax with friends old and new.

  • Serving a multitude of ideas that are suitable (or possibly completely inappropriate) for nearly any possible situation or dilemma!
  • Share Your Ideas! We'll have standees of famous thinkers holding chalkboards, tell us what you think!
  • See the glowing Brain In A Jar!
  • Deli pickles! Don't worry, they're in a different jar
  • Serving Murphy's Slaw! An unexpected mix of screws, bolts, nuts, washers, and wingnuts. When an unexpected problem or breakdown occurs with your project on the playa, try Murphy's Slaw!
  • Relax in the shaded Lofty Thoughts Lounge
  • Daily Specials and more!

Located on 8:30 at Esplanade

Thanks, we're really excited about our plans for this year. Pandorra and I are both visual thinkers, sometimes it's easier to grab whatever's at hand and improvise :)

Looks good. Looks like you got it all dialed in with cad. I hope this ticket situation pans out so that I may manifest some lofty ideas of my own, or just visit the lofty ideas lounge...Time will tell

Sweet! Can't wait to see it.

@Grai- I wear my eridu swag too, especially when flying or commuting to Reno. I like the "reasonably good chance of survival"

Thanks for the kind words. We're making good progress, with all the new structure designs complete and the rest well underway. Inspired by Hobson's Choice on Haight (a victorian punch house), we're thinking of having a few different punch house events of our own throughout the week, and campmates are hard at work researching the possibilities (hic). We'll have an assortment of rubber stamps at the ready - you bring it, we'll stamp it. The boys and girls in the lab are also researching the notion of bacon scarves, I'm eager to see what they come up with.

Sounds like fun and I too am wearing my ES swag, but mine says quite appropriately - The Bar Is Open.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

We're participating in this weekend's April Fool's event at Burn2 (the Burning Man virtual world regional group). Come visit our campsite in the virtual world of Second Life (free to download and play). We've also made and are giving away a fun 'Eridu Flambe' ensemble, which includes full body tattoo layer and spinning fire poi.

(that's me standing around like a dork in the background in the last 2 shots while Pandorra plays with her fire poi in the foreground)

The event runs through midnight tonight (pacific time). If you're already a resident of Second Life, come visit Eridu Society in the virtual Black Rock desert by clicking here. If you aren't but want to check it out, go here to create a free user account and to download the viewer app (think of it as a browser for virtual world space).

Progress continues! We've gone from the design and modeling stages to the fabrication stage on the deli counter

Meanwhile, murals have come together nicely…

And we're making progress with the Lofty Thoughts Lounge, camp signage, and other elements. While our camp may be full, we are taking applicants for people who are interested in working the deli counter. Either as a walk-up, or sign up to volunteer a shift slinging ideas - here's our posting on Spark (we've had some great responses so far, and emails with more info will go out sometime next week).

The deli counter's done, and much of the remaining work is done or well underway! We've gotten some great responses and interest from our post on Spark looking for people who may be interested in 'working a shift' and sharing their ideas (good, bad, or otherwise) with the citizens of Black Rock City. Can't wait to get everything finished and get out there!

I am in graphic design and own a sign shop, Burning man has always, of course, been well versed in these depts. Your sign sign looks super great and all these graphics are way cool, gives me some inspiration to chew on.....especially since i just got a new program :)
