Hello from London, England

Postby LoneLondoner » Tue Feb 07, 2012 4:29 am

Hello there everyone,

First timer to Burning man and I am really looking forward to it. I've been meaning to go for so long!

I'm going there solo at the moment unless I can find someone to go with between now and the summer...
Eitherway I'm certain I'll have a blast make some friends and get fully involved :D

Catch you later!

You will have a great time. Once in Reno you have every chance of meeting up with burners on their way to the playa. Systems are put in place to hook up with other people traveling out there, do not be afraid to use them.

Heya there LoneLondoner! There is a good burner community in London. In fact, I think there is burning pub Thursday Feb 16th (http://www.euroburners.org/wiki/BurningPub) - I think at the Miller (http://www.themiller.co.uk/). I haven't been (I live in Cambridge) but just may get down there this time.
There are loads of people to hook up with between now and August. Getting a ride-share will be no problem. Facebook is a good place to find groups. There is a UK Burners page. I also help run an Orphan Camp. There are a few orphan camps around. The two I'm part of are : Orphan/Endorphin, and Orphans Too (we camp together).
Any question, please just ask. By PM if you want to.
Cheers!

Hey funkyjigsaw,
I think I'll go to that event in London it's not far from me at all.
Also, I guess I do fall into the Orphan category so thanks for the info and I'll be in-touch to learn more, if that's ok...
Thank you!

Hey .. well everyone really, but I'll address this to LoneLondoner more specifically

Hey LoneLondoner!

Not sure if you made it to The Miller for last month's meetup.. but if not, you should definitely come down next Thursday (15th)

if you do, you should find me.. Canadian girl.. quiet when sober, not when not.. will be wearing a red chainmail bracelet and/or necklace if my teach-myself-jewellery-making session this weekend goes to plan (actually, can pretty much guarantee it will go very badly, but I will probably wear whatever abomination I create anyway... talk to the loud tipsy girl with the messed up red metal thing tied to her <- good advice for every day life, not just the London Burner's Pub meetup, or I have a skewed definition of "good" going)

If you did go last time, and already met me, then I'm sorry I don't realise it.. and you should find me again
