it is a good Idea to next time wear a long-sleeved shirt(and pants) if you are gonna spray a wasp nest.

Or mix up a healthy batch of Malathion in a bucket and throw the contents at them.
They don't seem to get up after that. DDT works almost as well.

Hornets are not the same as wasps. And if you ask one they'll be happy to show you.

I knew a guy once who decided he would shoot a hornet nest. Despite my repeated appeals of "Seriously, man, that's a REALLY BAD IDEA," and my own efforts to gtfo, he did it, anyway.

Technically they are exactly the same as wasps- "hornet" is generally used to refer to eusocial wasps (wasps that form colonies), and "yellowjacket" is another branch of the social wasps.

A "wasp" is any member of the order Hymenoptera and suborder Apocrita that isn't a bee or an ant.

When opening a new jar of Noxzema face washing cream (or any imitation brand), the plastic container acts like a capacitor with the cream inside, storing an electrical charge that can shock you when you go to touch the cream. To avoid this, touch the cream to something metal before using it!

Wasps? Aqua Net, and a Bic lighter. The "unscented" Aqua Net is more ecological.

Leave the parasitic wasps eg tarantula hawks alone, they rarely bother mammals, but they're at the top of the Schmidt Pain Index. I've seen them around the Black Rock, hunting scorpions and smaller spiders.

Crunching a Wint-O-Green mint Live Saver candy with your teeth while in a dark room will make a visible blue spark. I tried it in my dark bathroom, and I could see it in the mirror.
