i googlestalked myself. what does THAT mean??
i see nothing creepy about it at all. it's a good way to check out someone you've just met. why is it stalking? curiousity is more like it, i think...

Well, stalking implies obsession, IMO.

If you're obsessed with yourself, I think that there are other terms for that condition.

obsessed with self

Postby debkakes » Thu Sep 11, 2003 11:13 am

it's hard not to be obsessed with oneself. afterall, we live herein. it's the only true perspective we have (well, most people have some perspective of the Self one hopes), despite our valiant attempts to walk that mile in another's shoes...but that's another thread altogether i think. Wait, gotta go google myself again....just in case i accomplished something i forgot about.... :?

Zane's just pissed because he knows that all of us who know him know that nobody would be obsessed enough to stalk him. Unless they plan to kill him.

That would truly be a "Safety 10,000th!" proposition.

I googled "Zane5100". Men in dark suits came to visit. They gave me a tinfoil hat, but it doesn't work for shit.

googlestalking hygiene

Postby Fencing man » Thu Sep 11, 2003 3:59 pm

Its okay to googlestalk yourself, just remember to wash your
hands when your done. Also, the rumors that you will go blind
or grow hair on your palms are COMPLETELY FALSE.

I would be curious to hear the qualitative difference between "googling" and "googlestalking".

I wanna know how much futher I can go before I cross over a line...

I mean. I'm just curious.

Am I the Googlestalker?

Postby flores » Thu Sep 11, 2003 4:52 pm

Oh my god, I might be the stalker. I didn't realize that people could tell if someone has looked them up - obviously. Is it true? I just wanted to pass on some info to this person - I meant no stalker harm. What is this person's name? Or is this more stalking? Hee-hee. Peace and Joy!!!

For the most part they cant tell. There are exceptions though. If you type in a name and see a page and go to it, that page could have a counter on it. said counter may offer statistical information. said statistical information might include information on how they ended up on that page....

so for the most part they will never know. But it is possible.

I google myself all the time.

Spelling mistakes I can forgive. It's the bad grammar that gets you off
the list.

I just type in what I call a free association mindset, sometimes do a spell check and just hit submit. What you see is what you get, and I screw up the grammar a lot. Most people still get my points, and I'm #3 on the top 10 posters list on here so I've got lots of posts out there. And I've had a lot of good replies so having some questionable grammar is no big deal.

It's all good!

But based on where we all were 2 weeks ago I think most of us can give a little lee-way to some bad grammer, let alone reality.
