Are you guys doing anything for music on the pier?

I grew up on the Jersey Shore so piers are kina my thing, if you wanted to do a small party one night at the pier I have a sound system and two djs, just throwing that out there.

Crypto: Just ask on Monday after the burn.

That sign is epic.

We can't "actually" use the pier as a sound stage. However, if art cars want to roll up and play some tunes then yea :). Or if a band or some musicians want to play instruments please do so.

Hey Moonrise!

Yes, most of the team is on playa right now. I even got some pics sent to me of progress. The holes are dug, the pier is laid out and I'm sure the crew has a good portion of it up by now. I'm heading out Thursday morning to work on the bait shop and decorations. Do you have any idea how hard it is to sit in a cubicle right now? AGH!

Anyway, for everybody who has watched this project grow here on eplaya- we are so excited to meet you all! We'll be at 3:45 and Esplanade, Pier camp is about 4:45 and B. Please come by and say hello! I personally will be handing out some bait yummies at the bait shop Monday. I want to do it everyday, but I have a feeling I'll run out. We would love for you to come by, say hi, find your pictures in the bait shop, all that stuff.

This has been an amazing experience for me, working on my first Burning Man art project. The crew is sooo great. I can't wait to see it!!

Brings but a tear to my eye to remember the first initial post. So cool to see something evolve from first thought to finish. Can't wait to see it in person in just a few days..

THank you so much to everybody who came out to enjoy The Pier! Fbcota is still on playa, but I got home last night after a 9 hour! exodus. It was great meeting some of you on the pier and putting a face to the username, but Eric, I'm bummed that when my megaphoning campmate called out to "eric in the polka dot pants" to come get a drinkfrom me you didn't... oh well!

Anyway, I believe playa magic made it all that much cooler. We didnt' know it would settle the way it did, but we all loved the result. I admit, I often was scared to go by the pier for fear I'd find it had fallen to the ground. The Regatta on wed. night was definitely one of my best ever burning man experiences. Thank you everybody for coming and playing and enjoying it-- it made every splinter, every argument, every pain in the ass barnacle totally worth it.

i fell madly in love with the pier.

one night i was riding in an angler fish mutant vehicle. while swimming by the pier, we were chased by two little sharks. all of the angler fish passengers started screaming and everyone on the pier joined in with raucous howling and laughter. it was fantastic.

another night, i was riding my bike toward the pier when i saw a person walking it who was wearing a strobing illuminated suit. it gave the illusion that he/she was the only one on the pier. it looked like an eerie, slow, and beautiful animation.

thank you for such an amazing creation!

This was my favorite piece of the entire event. I was camped on 4:00 o clock so the pier and the lifeguard house really brought a nice theme to my treks home across the open playa. The faint glow, on those godforsaken cold nights, of the lights on the pier guiding me in! We went out I believe on Monday night, it was I the first thing my entire camp saw on the open playa. The sounds when you walk up and the height was very well done to create the illusion of being on a pier.

I haven't read this entire thread, as I hadn't run upon this thread since getting back today. So I don't know if it was planned or mentioned, but the experience was enhanced because of the new moon. Earlier in the week when it was so dark. You couldn't make sense of the playa surface from up there.

I also have a fond memory of coming home and seeing a boat art car (not the giant yacht), playing some "sittin on the dock of the bay" while sitting in front of the pier. people's legs swinging on the end of the pier. great great stuff.

I grew up on the Puget Sound north of Seattle and have spent countless hours on the Edmonds fishing pier. The whole thing really stirred up a lot of thoughts for me. Thanks so much for building it!

It was a defining part of my burn.
