Websites for prepared food packets

Postby junglesmacks » Sat Jun 25, 2011 1:06 pm

So.. this year I'm trying to buy my food packets online I think and just bring them on the plane. I've already found Tasty Bites on Amazon at a decent price - 6 packets for $18 w/free shipping.

Anyone have any other suggestions for websites/brands of pre-packaged, pre-prepared food?

Trader Joe's in Reno has a decent selection of pre-packaged rices, bean, grains and Tasty Bites.

You might consider stopping there before the final leg of your journey to Home.

It does help to read a thread before replying.

If you like backpacking food, Mountain House has some great selections.

Just add boiling water and wait a few minutes.
Playawaste Raiders cordially invites you to suck it.

Trying to find more things that are ready to eat straight out of the packet.. zero work. A la Tasty Bites, but with more substance.

Yeah, but too bulky, too much moop and too many un-needed things. I guess maybe if you bought just the entree part instead of the whole MRE with the toilet paper and everything? Hmmm..

Open a can of sardines in mustard or jalapeno sauce, dump into a foil pack of tuna, ummmm good, 40+ grams of protein right there*

fruit cup = vitamins

beer= carbs

There, you have a balanced meal.

*Tasty bites have 8-12 gm protein, which is fine if you eat 8-12 of them a day. Or, wash them down with Muscle Milk. :?
