Ticket sales threads

Ticket sales threads

Postby AntiM » Mon Feb 14, 2011 3:28 pm

There will be many tickets for sale. If you do sell your tickets here, please post when they are sold. I will lock the thread so it will sink to the bottom of the forum, but still can be viewed in case someone needs your information. If you need your thread unlocked, just PM me and I will open it back up for you.

This way people won't waste their time on tickets which are in the hands of happy burners.

Thank you.

Just a quick note - this forum is indexed by search engines, which is a good thing if you are trying to find a buyer or seller for you ticket but not so good if you post your real name and contact information. These can pop up to bite you later on if you acquire a stalker or go looking for a job and don't want them to know you attend Burning Man.

As such, I would recommend that you keep your full name out of things and ask people to send you a private message rather than posting your direct contact info on the board.

If you ever want to have your information removed from this board simply send a private message to "admin" and we will take care of it.

I just completed a sale of my tickets through Eplaya. What I did was to go back and edit the original post and put ((SOLD)) in the thread subject area so that people browsing ticket sale threads would not have to open up the thread to find out they were sold. Might be a good idea for others to do the same to make things easier for everyone.

And thanks to Eplaya for providing the venue to be able to sell my tickets. I am still heart broken over it, but it went better than I could have hoped for.

Are there a whole lot more posts for tickets, both buying and selling, this year than in years past?
Sure seems like it to me.

And as in all things... BEWARE OF SCAMMERS!!! I have seen some dicey offers already - KNOW that you're buying a real ticket from a legitimate source, as always remain wary of those asking for Western Union or other instant payment methods that leave you holding... nothing...

For the first time, Burning Man has sold out. The tickets are no longer for sale on the burning man site ( http://tickets.burningman.com/ ), and there will not be ticket sales at the gate (yes, really, truly, NO sales at the gate)...

This is going to be interesting...

I don't know who told you that, since they have been warning for months that this year they might sell out. Certainly when the $320s sold out, and the $360s that were originally intended for gate sales went on sale online, it was pretty clear that this was going to happen.

going to make an interesting situation - Supply and demand. No supply + High Demand = outrages rates.

Man, shocking to read it sold out, but then again it is the best place on Earth! I also foolishly told my virgin campmates it doesn't sell out and now they've paid for everything but tickets. Desperately need one or two if anyone can help. <3

For me, it all starts with the ticket. Seems crazy that someone would have invested significant amounts of time, energy, and money into all that goes into playa prep, but still not have a ticket sorted. For those looking, please stop replying to any damned thread on the board to tell us your story, or starting threads in search of tickets.

  • Reply to the thread started by a ticket seller!
  • Don't put your personal details in the public message (email addy/phone number). If you do, at least use name [at] domain [dot] com or something spambots don't read.
  • PM to the thread starter (seller) with the details.
  • Good luck!

And yet two more people ignore everything being said above in the blind race to find a ticket. Maybe we should just turn this thread over to them.

It's already getting ugly- I know of someone who got a ticket today and now his best friend isn't talking to him because he hasn't gotten one yet. *Ick*
