Journey To The Flames: Same Same but Different, 2011 (82 mins)
By Doug Jacobson www.journeytotheflames.com

Film Synopsis: If you think you have seen this film before, you are mistaken. This is the NEW EDITION called "Same Same but Different." "Journey to the Flames" follows a group of friends on their voyages to Black Rock City over the course of 11 years; from their initial stop in Reno for last minute supplies to the construction of their theme camp, The Petting Zoo. Director Doug Jacobson and his campmates wise-crack and offer philosophical insight on subjects from civic participation to radical self-expression. In this documentary Jacobson and crew also offer detailed explanations of Burning Man, it’s community, volunteerism and annual art themes.

With breathtaking shots of playa art, costumes, mobile art, flame effects and fire dancing the film includes interviews with Larry Harvey, Harley K. Dubois, Will Roger and Danger Ranger. As a first person perspective, Journey to the Flames, is a great film for newbies and first timers to Black Rock City. Includes mild nudity.

Q&A following the film with Film Maker, Doug Jacobson.

AND . . . Almost the entire cast and crew will be present for the Q&A.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.

In the June Scoop, we announced that Burning Man founders, Larry Harvey and Marian Goodell, would be at the Q&A after the screening of Journey to the Flames on June 12th. Lots of people went on line immediately to buy tickets. The Fandango system had a malfunction and starting telling people it was sold out. The screening is NOT sold out. I repeat. The screening is NOT sold out. Tickets are still available but they are going fast. If you do get a sold out message keep trying or call the theater box office, 323.461.2020.

Thank you for your patience.
