Can anyone tell me where the butterfly art car with the big hydraulic wings lives or who built it?

Lepidodgera - by Lira Filippini

I seem to remember them saying they were from the Bay Area.

That butterfly art car definitely gets my vote for coolest art car on the playa. (Visually, at the very least!)

So beautiful!

I loved this car! It kept giving me the most wonderful optical illusion. Because it was raised off the ground and the vehicle it was on was dark, at night the vehicle was not visible but the butterfly was. This caused my eye to think the butterfly was sitting on the ground, which would have made it considerably farther in the distance than it actually was (since further items would appear "higher" to the eye), which then made it seem as if the butterfly had to be at least as big as the Man to seem that large from that kind of distance! It happened to me over and over again that I'd glance across deep playa and think a 200-foot butterfly was dominating the landscape!
