The Burner

All things outside of Burning Man.

Yggy, you're too kind. Any my suit is 100% rayon. Getting the bastard dry cleaned almost bankrupted me, but that's nowheres near as bad as being around open flames. Which is why rayon suits are a bad idea at Burning Man. Just sayin.

I guess that explains your "skyclad" dancing in the desert.

When the burn is long and the night, the night you danced to long,
When you're sure you've had enough of the fire, well hang on
Don't let your flame go out, 'cause everybody tires and everybody burns sometimes

Sometimes everydance is wrong. nor should you sing along
When your day and night are one, (burn on, burn on)
If you feel it's going out, (burn on)
When you think you've had too much of this fire, well burn on

'Cause everybody burns. Take comfort in your friends
Everybody burns. Don't throw your camp. Oh, no. Don't throw your camp
If you feel like you're alone, no, no, no, you are not alone

If you're on your own in this camp, the days and nights are one,
When you think you've had too much of this fire to burn on

Well, everybody burns sometimes,
Everybody tires. And everybody burns sometimes
And everybody burns sometimes. So, burn on, burn on
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Everybody burns. You are not alone

just a quickie darlings

ok i hope this is totally origonal i haven't conciously copied anything

(name not yet thought of)

As the year started, my spirit low, I saw a thing and had to know,
What is this, I thought aloud, and all at once my spirit roused,
so i looked,
and looked again,
my mind whirling, i started yearning
To join, and see the burning

I have no doubt, no none at all, without this thing before the fall
I would of stopped, my spirit stall, and with no hope or joy at all
but i looked,
and looked again
and then i knew and became a fan
of that distant Burning Man

And now my hart beats, within my chest for i seek no endless rest
until my spirit, mind and soul, have had that brutal desert test,
for i looked
and looked again
and i have come to realise
i Must see him burn with my own eyes

For my trip has just began, to learn to be a playa man
I must learn to plan my burn, and then of course to burn my plan
Now i plan
and plan again
with eager hopeful yearning
soon i'll see that man we're burning

The year goes on, my spirtit higher, a plan in place to see that fire
the plan goes on, now not as one, to bring to you some english fire
I learn
we learn again
to make a fiery spin
of some random burning thing

And now at las, with plans in place, I have found my private space
my little niche, and now i pace, until i'm there to show my face
i wait
and wait again
to be at last in nevadan state
and ring the bell at greeters gate

and now, my dues are paid, tickets bought and plans are laid
its time , to sit and wait till summers fade
but 'till then i'll not moan
of how long 'till i can roam
and here you say, my friend
WELCOME HOME

I was right she was the one
and now she's gone
i have none
there will be others
friends and maybe lovers
but in my heart
she's the biggest part

how do you go on
when the light is gone
darkness hides the fun
i smile and share
and hide the shadows there
noone sees inside my heart
the hole thats the biggest part

it's an easy part to play
to look happy for all the day
it's in the night, when all is dark
i see my broke and empty heart
I don't want you to see
the void inside of me

be my friend just please dont see
the emptyness inside of me
its easier to just pretend
I wont ask you my friend
will the heartache never end

i told by those wiser then me
times heals all wounds, you will see
but i can't help feeling i bleed internally
a wound that takes my soul
to fill my hearts gaping hole
and leaving nothing i call me.

so my many friends, come gather round
without a word or any sound
just share with me
the tears no other will ever see
it's not that we are far to proud
we're just alone in a crowd

if we get old, as we surely will
we learn to swallow the bitter pill
and to keep inside a secret place
were we can hide our own true face
and if her 'the one' should happen by
we will never know, and so won't cry

or should we keep
our heart on show
on our sleeve
and risk that loss and pain
and take that risk once again
and share our soul
and not end up all alone
completely unconcerned.

i was perusing stuff to adapt and i found this, it just seems to be so very very apt, i will try and adapt it or add to it but here's

Err i shall call it This Grand Adventure

Oh, how I envy you
Not everyone has the chance
To face the unspeakable terrors
Of the great unknown

Today's the day
In only a matter of moments
You'll all be on your way
What lurks around the corner
Not a soul can say
But I can guess
More or less
Hidden dangers
Great duress
Ah, the moments of glory
Is close at hand
It's gonna be grand

Adventure is a wonderful thing
Pack only the essential
I'll tell you what to bring
Your strength
Your nerve
Your hearts
Your wits
And for skullosaurus attacks
First aid kits

Adventure is a hoot and a half
You'll face unearthly dangers
And look at them and laugh
The claws
The teeth
The chase
The thrill
You'll never want to come home
Maybe you never will

That's the beauty of adventure
It's strictly sink or float
It runs you 'til you're ragged
Then it grabs you by the throat
You struggle to survive it
Though the chances are remote
Hoo, hoo, lucky you
Wish I was coming too
Adventure is a wonderful thing

ok my take on it

Oh, can you envy me?
Now everyone has the chance
To face the unspeakable terrors
Of the great unknown

Today's the day
In only a matter of moments
i will be on My way
What lurks for this new burner
Not a soul can say
But I can guess
More or less
Hidden dangers
Great stress
Ah, the moments of glory
Is close at hand
It's gonna be grand

Adventure is a wonderful thing
Pack only the essential
y'all told me what to bring
my strength
my nerve
my hearts
my wits
And for skullosaurus attacks
First aid kits

Adventure is a hoot and a half
i shall face absurd dangers
And look at them and laugh
The heat
The booze
The Jots
The thrill
i'll never want to come home
and Maybe never will

That's the beauty of adventure
It's strictly sink or float
It runs you 'til you're ragged
I've grabbed it by the throat
and will struggle to survive it
Though the chances are remote
Hoo, hoo, lucky you
For I am coming too
Adventure is a wonderful thing

Hmm its funny but i bet i can do better

...or how about:

I'm going camping in northern Nevada for a week.
I am getting my stuff all packed now.
I hope I meet fun people.
After this Right of Passage, I will forever be considered a Burner.

Please do not envy me,
now I've got the chance,
the wonders and the thrills i will see
to go where Burners dance

So soon the Day
in but a few short weeks
We'll all be on our way
what sights we'll see what wond'rous feats
so cool some will say
You'll never guess
Or see the rest
and the fabled story,
of burners Glory

an adventure in the nevada desert
packing all i need, getting ready to go.
this grand exciting journey
soon to meet those who make it so
a right of passage, for some and me
an adventure and rightly so
all those burners to be

Adventure in an unknown place
soon to face burner rangers
And look at them and laugh
The art
The sounds
The place
The things
You'll never want to come home
I know i never will

That's the beauty of this burning place
It's strictly self made fun
from sight to sight you'll run
Then it grabs you by the throat
You struggle to survive it
In this desert so remote
Hoo, hoo, lucky you
fo i am coming too
Adventure is a wonderful thing

I almost forgot the very best part
You not only get to meet your friend
in this most dangerous place
of wonders and creative art
You'll get to say and not all can
Now I am a burner, man

That's the beauty of adventure
The trembling and the dread
Oh I can't think of another thing
I'd rather do instead

Perhaps you could join us?

No, no, you go ahead

Hoo, hoo, lucky you
Tally ho, and toodle ooh
Ready now, noble chin
Chest out, tummy in
Make a fracas, have a fling
Drop a postcard, give a ring
Get the lead out, time to swing
Whoop dee doo, and badda bing
Adventure, is a wonderful thing

I salute you
And those of you doomed to never return
I salute you twice

much better
