i believe every birgin should camp by themselves the first year. it forces you to meet your neighbors, form alliances...you have no obligations except self reliance,..to help others..and take it all in. do not be a burden to others...lend a helping hand to anybody struggling. say 'hi' even if you are shy.

I think I saw a "you might be" thread somewhere, bit being 1)lazy 2)kind of drunk 3) Eris' sub I think I'll just post this here:

Would love to have someone invent some thing to keep tie downs all rolled up and nice looking. Ted you owe me!! I mean really how many of these thing does someone need!

Bungie cords!

You two playing BDSM games again?

I'm scared to ask Jay what that stands for!

TMI without knowing.lol

Ok! What does BDSM stand for and what does TMI mean?

‎...the only applicable part would be the "B." And like all school kids know "B" is for Bondage. ;)

TMI = Too Much Information.

I think Donna knew that too. ;)

She just knows you.

I am still very confused Jay! My mind if digging through the gutter to figure out what BDSM means and it is coming up with nothing! Thanks though for clearing up the tmi ted and I had now clue what that meant, but now I get it!

Rideshare. Plan to fly into San Francisco, Oakland, Reno, Salt Lake--there are probably a couple more, like POrtland--where there will be enough burners passing through to arrange a ride. Reno's great (I understand) because there's a lot of people who stop at the airport and there's a desk at the airport and other support, so you go where ever, do some shopping then off to the playa. If you arrange from this board or Craigslist you can do round trip. You might have to organize another ride from the playa, because schedules are different. Make sure you allow plenty of time to get from the playa to whatever airport you're going ot.

If you don't mind riding in a lawn chair, find your way to Sacramento and we may even grab some fish along the way.

Please don't take offense if you are turned down. It's usually not personal. There are many, many possible reasons. If you feel a serious tug toward a camp it usually shows and on our end it is seriously hard to turn down someone with overflowing enthusiasm.

I had a similar vibe from Media Mecca, altough it's not a theme camp. The coordinator said she admired my stated work ethic and enthusiasm, as long as I didn't make her look bad :)

I think I may need too much "me" time to be in a theme camp, but of course I won't know that until I'm there. I'll worry about that next year, maybe.

Basically, if you ask to camp with someone and they invite you in, don't assume that means plus one, or plus one with a few friends. Nope, not the case. You must bring your own living room shade if you have extra bodies. we can be neighbors, but don't crowd the host(ess), please.

You're awesome in many ways. I've learned an insane amount from ePlaya and threads like this.

I honestly never considered a theme camp or a village, but this is some good material to ponder.

My people prefer the phrase, khaki-american.

Brian, theme camps vary a great deal.
I suspect you will have the chance to camp in a village I have been in.
Unless you want more space and privacy, you should be comfortable.
