I'm glad to see the first tier of tickets are starting at $210 again. I think this is the fourth year without an increase in the starting price. 2007 was $195, so this is really cool that the price has been holding!

Ticket Limit

Postby mars » Sun Jan 09, 2011 2:32 pm

So, on the ticket info page, each tier specifies "Limit two tickets per person". Does anyone know if this means I can buy two from each tier, or if it's a blanket 2 ticket limit, no matter what combination of tiers you buy from?

I would like to buy two low-tiered tickets for friends and one 2nd tier ticket for myself.

Also, I don't believe this applies to the highest/final tier.

For instance, if you were buying for a whole group of friends, you could contact ticketing and arrange to buy 10 tix from the highest price.

The limits are intended to prevent scalping of the lower tier brackets.

After talking to my sister today, I have a question:

My sister will be buying two tickets. One for herself, and one for another of my sisters.

Her son will be buying two tickets. One each for himself and his partner in fun-'n-games.

They considered that because they'll be using two seperate credit cards they'd be able to order all four on the same "call".

This set off some alarm bells to me.

So I'm wondering. Is this possible?

Is it even possible for them to sign in on seperate computers under the same IP address? Or would Son-'n-fun need to be signing in altogether elsewhere?

As long as they are ordered under different names, and on different credit cards, everything will be fine. They are really trying to keep the scalpers from buying up all the tickets. That's why they have you type in the funky code thing.

BE SURE TO RUN THE TEST ON YOUR COMPUTER BEFORE ORDER BUYING TIME! YOU CAN RUN IT RIGHT NOW! Go to this link and at the bottom of the page. http://tickets.burningman.com/

Thanks Shambala!

Just to be sure I've got this straight... One sign-in means ability to buy more than just one pair of tickets if there are more than one card?

I guess that means that your caller number (say........ 4567) doesn't really guarantee there will be tickets left by the time they get to you.

I figure with 9000 first tier available we have about a 1in5 chance at a ticket.

That aint bad. :)

I wouldn't place bets on it. I'd sign on from 2 different computers to be safe- if I remember from the last time I joined the rush 2 tickets was the maximum per log-in. The was years ago, may have changed.

I thought that it was no more than 2 in each of the first two tiers, but you could buy them all at once.

Or did someone say that already?

Yes, I am too lazy to look.

Just a guess, but the way the ordering thing has worked in the past, I'm guessing strongly that NO, you can NOT have two separate transactions on one "call".

You will probably have to have your son sign on separately and get in line himself. I wouldn't take a chance; just do it on two computers from the get go so to avoid missing out.

You will not be able to buy more than two tickets in one tier per log in. Two in tier one, and two in tier two, yes. A total of four in tier one, no.

Okay~~Thanks!

To sum up the thread...
it's two tickets per tier max.

And don't count on being able to do a second transaction with another person on one "call". (In fact, I'd say don't even try it. Just have everyone get their own place in line and buy their own pair of tickets.)
