trader joe's had some canned little shrimp when I was perusing yesterday. I'll put a couple of cans and a jar of shrimp cocktail sauce in the cooler, and see when the appropriate time comes. I like that I don't have to scare anyone with pre-made shrimp cocktail. if they are nervous about it (I would be) I can open the cans as they watch.

Chilled cans of Thai iced tea..... so so good to cool down with. Sweet yet a good kick to it. I'm bringing a bunch with me this time (last time I brought only two cans and I was craving them).

Can someone tell me, to keep foods colder in your cooler, do you line the INSIDE of the cooler with reflective materials or OUTSIDE the cooler? If inside the cooler, does the shiny part face inside (towards the food)?

reflect the outside. keep cooler off the ground & under shade. I'm not sure you would need refective material if it's under the shade. Also, don't open the cooler much. I have two. One for drinks & one for food.
Ice is sold there, so there is no real need for panic.

Ditto...put it on bricks or Mason bricks. Try and use dry ice, but don't try to lick it!

Burners tuned me on to a few canned dishes that would seem to go great with wine

1. tins of smoked oysters !!! Serve on crackers
2. canned Dolmas
3. Canned suffed Peppers, cabbage, tomatoes

No dishes !!!

gonna try an experiment this evening. Roman Rusk. simple recipe... 1/2 flour, 1/2 honey. bake at 350.

This is a good backpacking food, waybread even if you like.

So the twist is I'm going to try something I saw at TJ's and have never used. peanut flour. for my gluten free visitors.

could be a mess, but I'm dying to try it out. It's a hard sticky cookie sort of thing with regular flour. good, (necessary) for dunking in a hot beverage.
