CareFactorNil's Lip Dub Music Video Project

Postby carefactornil » Wed Aug 04, 2010 8:17 pm

All,

I did a "lip dub" music video (well 4) for my girl as a present this year. Except I thought I was doing something original, but it turns out a lot of people do this. I wanted to do another couple and so I thought, where better than at Burning Man? So if you want to be part of it (probably only 1 line per person or group) then come and join me under the Man on Thursday 3-5pm (wearing a Cheese Coat), or Tuesday @ Syncitium Maze 10am-1pm. I'll also be wandering around, asking people at random to join in if they're interested and staying in the Syncitium Maze so ask for me there if you're around.
Hopefully I'll get enough footage for a few songs and it'll make a sort of cool video yearbook for those who take part.
Should only take a minute or so of your time. After the event I'll edit the video together so it's like one whole music video with everyone lipsynching and then post on youtube for you to see and share with friends.
Songs to be finalised, but expect one to be The Dandy Warhols "Bohemian Like You". I'm thinking of doing Heaven 17's "Temptation" (lots of "leave no trace" lyrics!) and maybe Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" as they're all pretty lively and fit in with my experience of BM.

If you've no idea what I'm on about or what "lip dub" videos are, check out the ones I did for my girl and you'll get the idea:

What do y'all think? Are you up for it? :D

Has anyone done this at BM before?!

Sorry, my bad - it's the "Syncytium Maze". It's a MUCH bigger maze than the one I built last year. It's a theme camp on the ring road round the centre camp. Should be pretty damn cool too!

You might wanna post the addy up here, some of us avoid that area like the plague.

Addy = address, right?

Well the maze is 8 o'clock & ring road, although it's not mine. At 200' x 100' it shouldn't be hard to spot. So if you like mazes it might be worth venturing into "that area"... ;)

Just a quick note to say a huge THANK YOU to all the hundreds of people who took part in this. Got some fabulous "takes" of certain bits, an amazing amount of looks and costumes and lots of art in the background.
I *think* I managed to get all the lines/dancing I need for the 3 songs. I'm hoping to have all the video editing done by around Halloween and I'll then post the completed yearbook videos on youtube and try and get them out on Jack Rabbit Speaks. BM may even post them (or a link) on their website. Will also update this thread too with the link when done.

Mwah!
