I'm just curious as to how you plan to do this? will you bring baked good to give out or will you have an actually oven and kitchen.

I wouldn't mind bringing some baked goods or flower for you guys .

I took an old stove/oven out of a camper......sort of the same thing, all self contained, just add propane.....the oven works good.

If I were gonna do a whole theme camp about baking, I'd round up one or more real, home type gas ovens and bring 'em. They can be had cheap used and really don't weigh that much. That'd really be the shit!
Since it wasn't mentioned, make sure to investigate all the legal hoops about public food service.

An actual oven. In the past we used a standard kitchen oven that had been modified to run on propane. This year we'll probably do something similar, and may have some solar and other ovens on hand as well.

I bake things every day at Burning Man, and when I say things I mean my friends.

Seeking Bakers and Athletes

Post by Lucifer » Tue Jul 20, 2010 10:22 am

Just another reminder that we're still seeking additional bakers to make the baked goods and athletes to deliver them around town while wearing full Shaolin garb and donning a Sashimono. For more details...

I started a thread for people looking for camps; is it okay that I mention that you're still looking? or maybe you'd like to do it?

hey lucifer,

are you still looking for campmates?

i'm a working musician (keys), coming with 3-4 friends. one is a great cook, others are pretty handy. we havent decided where to camp yet.

i remember stopping by the golden cafe last year and basking in the sounds. would love to get into the mix this year. do you need a keyboard player? also planning on bringing my keytar.

Hey, Hottlotus. How do you harvest your rainbow flavoring (i.e., where do you go unicorn hunting?)

We were tossing around half-baked ideas for the Playa when we settled on Black Rock Fudge Packing Company. A little white candy-stand, circa 1880, where we pass out fudge under a sign that say's Learn How to Pack Your Own Fudge, or something like that. It was funny as hell until the drugs wore off.
