I spotted one I like at REI but at $20 it seems a little expensive but it had a screw on lid, splash proof top, stainless stell for easy cleaning and a clip handle to make it easy to carry.

What are most people using for drinking cups/containers when visiting other camps?

I swear by Vitamin Water/Gatorade bottles. It takes a few washings to get the taste out but they're super durable, have a nice big opening for refilling, and if it gets lost or destroyed who cares? Just scope out recycling bins for another.

Similar to the one on the right, but blue.
The straw makes a nice handle, and it keeps dust out pretty good!
After being thrown around last year it sorta leaks now. Worked for 5/7 days though.

I use the big galllon ones to bring in water. Perfect with a nice built-in handle.

This is the closest I could find to my drink cup:

Except mine is shaped like an ice cream cone and has a screw-on lid. I like it for the lid, straw and it attaches easily to my pack, belt, etc. I also travel with a

It's funny...

This is one of those silly things that is really important to me...so idiosyncratic.

First, I drink a lot of very large mixed drinks out there.

For me, I tend to use plastic insulated mugs with lids and build in flexi straws. A lot of blended drinks come in them at tourist places like Vegas. They hold about 48 ounces, are double walled in clearish plastic so you can tell the level inside. Lid snaps on and has hole for the flexi straw.

Each year someone makes fun of me, and each year about an hour later said person asks for sips off MY big honkin' ass frosty cold drink that is still going strong.

You can also get non-clear varieties of such at convenience stores in 32- 48 and even 54 ounce sizes. The 54 sounds silly, but you can put some ice in a double ziplock, fill the thing with 5 beers and walk around with your own little mini-keg with a handle.

I actually used to work with this guy at another EMS company that would drink out of these as well as using the larger emesis basins (for barfing) or bedpans for his frequent chinese carry-outs.

Thankfully he used a fork to eat it and not a speculum

(scratching head, banging on calculator trying to figure this one out....are you drinking the beers while pouring them, or pouring very small cans of beer, or...)

eta- while googling BM images, I saw a stainless steel thermo mug with "Ahh man, I got some dust on my mug" printed on it. It also had a $25 price tag on it.

Google "blinking beer mug" or something like that. I've gotten them a few times, from different online places.

Lots of sites have a variety of light-up/blinking drinkware (mugs, wine glasses, martini glasses, pint glasses, shot glasses, etc.)

I found a pic of my cup in ACTION!

Built in straw and lid, plus a loop for attaching it to my bag/belt.
