PG&E are Rangers???

No matter your skills or interests, there's a way for you to participate in the creation and manifestation of Black Rock City, both at the event and year-round.

PG&E are Rangers???

Postby lbhat » Sat Jan 02, 2010 9:55 pm

from a participate link = Founded in 1992, the Rangers pursue a mission dedicated to maintaining public well being.
They patrol the boundaries of our city to protect us from intruding cars, ...Is that not PG&E/Perimeters Job?
they rescue the lost, maintain our city's gate, ....Is that not the purpose of PG&E/Gate?
interface with our city's fire protection service, maintain our good relations with local law enforcement agencies, and manage the exodus of traffic at the conclusion of the event. ....I THOUGHT PG&E EXODUS DID THAT???

so..... WHEN DO I get my Ranger badge/gear??? I thought I worked PG&E I did not realize I am a FUCKING Ranger.

in the spirit of honesty... I love the all BRC rangers I know. I just want to see cred where credit is due.....

Come on, you don't REALLY want to be a Ranger do you? That stuff doesn't wash off you know...

Gate Pride!

Edited to add that I'm not a Ranger hater either, Rangers Danger, Mendy, and Haggis are all great people and I'm sure there are many more.

Verbage sounds like the way back old days when it is quite likely that they did all of that.

You're not a fucking Ranger. So snuggle up with your little souvenir hoodie and find something else silly to font about.

As far as I can tell, PG&E have only existed as such for the past couple of years. Before that Exodus was it's own little fiefdom. I don't know when Gate/Perimeter split from the rangers, but certainly by about 2003.

It's the volume, or tonnage, of spectators, that required this division of labour.

It was a lot easier to crash the gate when DPW was running it.

I kept reading the title of this and wondering what Pacific Gas and Electric had to do with this...
It's going to be alright.

You mean that's NOT what they are referring to? Hmmm, that changes everything. Then what the hell is PG&E?

I think they were referring to Perimeter, Gate, and Ecstacy collection but when I first read it I was thinking Pacific Gas & Electric too.

Thanks to Burning Man I know more about California than I do about Colorado where I now live. It's amazing.

I don't know how long you've lived in CO but I'd be happy to tell you anything you'd like to know, and plenty things you could probably care less about.
