Ashes and Dust

Ashes and Dust

Postby goathead » Thu Oct 15, 2009 6:26 pm

New thread, for a new year of waiting, for next year, and HOME again.

It was a beautiful day today, and I was able to make some more stones for another burner.

From last year.

I was given the chance to do something special today for a burner.

I melt playa dust with a big fresnel lens into small rocks that resemble Indian teardrops.

Today I mixed some ashes into the playa dust and made her a small stone.

If you are bringing out some ashes to the temple or to scatter and would like to stop by and have a small stone made with some ash and playa dust please stop by.

Just a very small pinch of ash is all I need.

I am part of the HomeBrew for Homebrew camp.
goathead is also my playa name.

Thank you for allowing me the chance to do something for you.

These are just BRC stones, no ashes.

Still making them for people.

Simon I trust your tastes for fruit cocktail.

Deb, seems that I am doing a few stones by word of mouth now.
Some are really tough ones.

Goathead; Take good care of you.

I understand what you mean about being tough. You are so kind when you do this because you also listen to the grief story about the ashes. You are an angel for taking up some of the burden these folks have.

Maybe we should change your playa name. From Goathead to something with ashes or dust or stones and angel in it. How about StoneAngel.

hey GH.......what Deb says is so true....take care of you....

in my business, parallel to this, I hear the same stories, and, they can be heart rending........
and, the energy people sometimes need can drain you........

I've worked that from both that side and in relation to my Pagan ways........

there is much magic in what you do, and, without ill intent, others can mess your juju up if you're not careful.......

It's interesting, but after having the opportunity to meet you on the playa, I must say that your handle here fits you here, but on the playa you are less a goathead and more of a rockangel.

Not really, it's just that almost all of the snarkiest people here on eplaya were like totally the nicest people you would ever want to meet in person. And having the opportunity of meeting so many of you is a big part of what made my burn so special this year.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to Goathead for making some stones for me. They are incredible and I can't wait to share them with my brother and sisters next month. Someone suggested to me the idea of taking mine and making it into an earring instead of a pendant. I think I really like that idea - to always have my dad on my ear - like he was whispering to me....

You sir are a wonderful human being and I am grateful for this gift you have given me!

Good talking with you on the phone also.
Hope your family enjoys them.

Finally a nice sunny, no wind day at home.
Got to do some more stone.

Some for a couple in Gerlach.
Some for my Step Dad's family.
I think he would have approved of them.

Did some more stones a couple of weeks ago, got me to thinking about HOME this year.

If you bring ashes to the burn and would like a stone made please let me know.

Mornings are normally the best time, lots of sun and little wind.

My name on the playa is also goathead.
I am part of the
