Musical styles?

Postby Aylira » Tue Aug 25, 2009 10:29 am

Hey, this will be my second year, and I'm looking around to see if anyone is going to be spinning things I don't want to miss.

Mostly, I'm looking to see if anyone's spinning either good Happy Hardcore (yeah, I am admitting I like it) or Trance. I already know where the good Psy is going to be, and plan to enjoy some of that as well, but I haven't been able to find any good sources of HHC. If anyone's going to spin it, let me know, please! (Maybe some year I'll learn & do it myself, heh). I figure Opulent on Thursday will be decent for some trance (I mean c'mon, AVB!), but there's got to be more.

I can't wait to be home again!

Very interesting, not exactly what I was looking for but if that's the case I may have to check it out, I've seen Qntal at Faerieworlds

Yeah, its an awesome festival, though its getting pretty vendor-heavy these days :/

Lots of living art though, people with absolutely beautiful costumes who really get into the spirit of it, it does still feel like a bit of another world

*blink* wow...surprised nobody's ever heard of hhc, but I guess I'm isolated in my own little subculture (I'm a raver)

and, well, I'm talking about EDM, so...not really sure what bands to point anyone at...I usually just find DJs I like and go to the shows they're spinning at.

I'm not sure what style of techno these would be considered, but at Root Society (10:00 and Esplanade) we have quite a lineup.

I'll have to check out each DJ, I really don't know most of the names, but I do expect I'll be over there now and then anyway (as well as over at Opulent)

that's because most people stopped listening to HHC back in the 90s after they quit doing E every weekend :)
