Repeat - awesome lineup! Will this be at your camp (10 & G) or mobile on the robot heart art car?

Robot Heart 2009 DJ Lineup

Postby robot » Sun Aug 23, 2009 11:45 pm

We're a mobile sound camp located at 10 and G. We have two art buses that will be carrying the craziest (74,000kw) sound systems linked via a a wireless network.

In terms of location, we are completely mobile and plan to change up the scene night to night to fully appreciate different vibes on the Playa. The idea is to stay in one location for most of the night but we'll move when it feels right.

To help find us, we have a huge LED lit HEART and a LED lit ROBOT, one on each bus, that can be spotted mostly anywhere on the Playa. We'll also have a long balloon chain tethered to our buses on most nights.

We have some video art but always appreciate more. Give us a shout out if you've got something.

We're stoked to get back on the Playa and drop some massive beats with y'all!

I do, but more importantly I am organizing a gathering of live video artists at center camp on wednesday afternoon, interest has been very strong. if someone from your crew could attend, I'm sure you would find live video artists more that willing, and very happy to assist you!

I am doing a video install in the big root society dome, and have a line up of 10 VJ, all looking for another gig, if they can find it....

here is the details on the video artist meet and greet:

VJ meet and greet - Burning Man 09

calling all video geeks! calling all video geeks!

Date: Wednesday, September 2, 2009
Time: 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Location: black rock city, nevada
Street: center camp

Video artists of black rock city, lets get together, and meet each other. there is a host of Camps planning on using our services for the entertainment of there patrons this burn. Opulent Temple will be hosting VJ, as with Root Society, Robot Heart, Visionary Village, and possibly Philadelphia Experiment.

let's get together at Center Camp late afternoon on Wednesday so we can all meet up and get to know one another, maybe even fill in a few last minute gigs. plan to see other inspiring artists sets and such. Or maybe you just want to talk shop with the rest of use video nerds.

I put the time as 3-5PM, but as most of you know Playa time is kind of a loose reality... 5PM is the cut off time, the meeting may continue for longer if people want, just if your out and about and can't make it for 5, I'd suggest abandoning the trip to center camp.

I'll make sure I'm there around 3PM, so just look for a guy all covered in playa dust..... I'll probably be wearing goggles to, can't be anyone else out there with goggles, right? oh, maybe I'll bring my laptop, cause that would be a useful tool... so look for the dusty guy with the laptop.

can't wait to go home.....

Awesome idea! Thanks for the lead. What kind of hardware/software info do we need to provide VJs, and is there a way we can get connected even before Wednesday as we're planning to throw some killer sessions beforehand? If not, all good.

Thanks again for the connect! Can't wait to get out on the Playa!

well a good video artist will come prepared to plug and play on anything, but the most common would be a VGA connection, or a composite/s-vid connection. the rest leave it up to the VJ. But if you really want to get fancy.. supplying a video mixer like an edirol V4, would be nice.

come by the root society 10 o'clock and esplanade, find me james deane, I'll be there, maybe I'll have conected with some of the vide artists by then?

I'd love to meet other vj's on the playa!! This is a great idea! I will definitely be there. Any other vj's, also feel free to swing by camp Want It! on the 9'oclock plaza, find me, and jump on my setup. (v-4 and other equipment will be present)

Sweeeet. I loved everything I heard from the Robot Heart last year. Really "got" Burning Man for the first moment while listening to 3l3tronic playing the Robot Heart next to the firedancer stage Tuesday night. Hope to catch them, and others, next week!

CANT WAIT

Swamy + The Robot Heart changed my life! By far the best feeling I've ever had from something as simple as good music. Thank you so much for making my burn so awesome. It was my first year and now that I'm hooked I hope to see you again eevery year. I would highly enjoy a set list of the night of the burn. Does some of that set entail what you put out on Le Souk's sessions CD you put out, Swamy? I'll definately be buying that off Amazon. Forever impressed. )'(
