Sometimes a shovel is just a shovel.
To well-adjusted people, anyway.
So, where's the cemetery? I'll be at your place at midnight. Less than a month to go, we'd better get busy.
By the way, we can have the rental and my truck to drive. If you need us to swing by and pick up some stuff, drop me a PM.

can you post an example? yeah, i could find it, but i want YOU to.Wolfe wrote:Another idea for a sign:
Have "Barbarian Camp" in Conan-movie font, and have a sword going through "Camp" like the word 'Conan' in the "Conan The Barbarian" movie title .
I wonder how much that would cost to do?
--Wolfe
it won't cost much .... might be cheaper than chicken bones, in any case.
Ok, good, because I had a response all typed up and ready to snark (penis!) but then thought maybe it was just my dirty mind working all on its own...ygmir wrote:someone help Dougly with innuendo and double entendre.............Ugly Dougly wrote:Do have to bring my own shovel?ygmir wrote:yeah, but, with the right "technique", you can get all the bones you want.........

What can I say-- after doing so many events where it's a requirement --and add to the fact that this is government land-- I assumed they wanted that here, too.Ugly Dougly wrote: (Plenty of other dangerous things going on at BM, it's our responsibility, radical self-reliance and all that.)
So, we're responsible for our weapons, peace-tied or not. Got it .

Let me know if this SLIDE SHOW works all right:
http://tinyurl.com/lf2dpr
http://tinyurl.com/lf2dpr
We heard a lot of good things about the obstacle course .
Inside jokes to remember:
--When pulling up a stake, get a grunt or a Canadian.
--The Green Goblin was our best 'customer' and best source of advertising.
--Yes, you can go across the rope swings backwards, forwards, and upside down .
--One rock is the wimpy, girly rock. The other rock is the manly, hernia-making rock.
--"Bonehead the Barbarian". He pulls other people's knives and has a goofy helmet .
--When abducting the other camp's women (even if they *requested* it), make sure you have your weapons ready-- they just might want to retaliate . If I was wearing pants, I would have been caught with them down.
--I live in a van. Now I just need to find a river to live down by .
It was definitely an adventure.
More posts as I think of them .
--Wolfe
P.S. Firefist Ace and Heidi-- As promised, some of the music we played:
-- Corvus Corax: "Cantus Buranus Live in Berlin" and "The Best of"
-- The Arrogant Worms
-- The "Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures" soundtrack

Just Say No to...
I always thought Bran Mak Morn was much cooler than Conan.
"Everything is more wonderful when you do it with a car, don't you think?"

It would be a shame if I had to resort to self-deception to preserve my faith in objective reality.

Rumor is that they are making "Worms of the Earth" into a movie. Wouldn't Mark Dacascos make a great Bran?
Hey, Barbarian fans! It has happened. We got imitated. Looky here:

So that means that we are all immortal. Does anyone have pics of the camp by the way?Barbarian Invasion!
Uggh! You ! Weakling! Join in the barbarian invasion! The Barbarian King, and his band of barbarian buddies try to prove themselves civilized citizens of the realm. Compete in rowdy contests of barbaric fashion: Worst Dressed Barbarian, Strongest Barbarian, and the Barbarian Obstacle Course. Gather your hoard (sic) and raid the village.
The texas renfest has been around for a long time.
I used to carry a four foot longsword over my shoulder when I went.
A friend heard the gate guards talking about me once.
One asked if I was allowed to carry live steel like that.
The other one said, "You tell him."
I know of a great squire's training game they had set up out there, that would be great fun on the playa.
