Man, this board software sucks. I think I finally changed all the various things that need to be changed after creating a new forum and deleted all the guest spam. Reply here again if anything is missing.

Specifically the post from ddddyyyyy in the thread.

Seems to be a spamer looking at his links below the post.
I just think He’s just not very good at it. But it’s your call.
What do you think?

Can't find the wifi/cellphone thread from the Q&A topic area. What happened, hmm?

No, was a sticky topic at the top of the Q&A thread list, as I recall.

Whatever the issues (the Google-cached version of the thread doesn't show some strongly-worded replies after Aug 26), I thought it was a worthwhile Q&A thread, given how often people ask about comm access on the playa, and it does eplaya users a disservice to arbitrarily delete it.

yes I agree.

I get the feeling that the thread still excites.
It just seems to be hidden and under a lock down.

Still no explanation?

Good work, team. You completely fucked up any reasonable discussion of cell access on the playa, while earth.burningman.com is DOA.

Action Girl moved it after receiving a complaint about TOU violations. You know, suggesting illegal activities and all. It's not how AntiM or I would normally have handled something like that but it's done and I'm not sure how to keep everyone happy. Put it back but delete the offending posts? Just leave it gone and let the other threads pick up the slack?

So it makes sense for org bureaucrats to delete eight pages of posts going back a couple years from dozens of users on worthwhile Q&A topics because one guy is presumed to be acting in an unburnerly fashion?

Aren't you people supposed to *moderate* discussions on this stupid BBS? As in attempting to pull crazy people back from the edge, or kindly ask them to leave?

but why take it out on dork/antiM?

not saying you dont have a valid grievance - but in case you misread it - they dont seem to have anything to do with it, was done without thier input or knowledge.

you stated a valid complaint, it was answered, but you didnt like the answer, so you flipped the wrong people an attitude for the wrong reasons.

i dont agree with what ag did and how she did it, but im not enough of a dick to take it out on the volunteers after they explain have nothing to do with it and are pretty much helpless. so please - either discuss why you dont agree with it, offer suggestions... or follow the best option to directly take it up with actiongrl. who knows, maybe she will realize that its not the best course of action and refrain from the practice in the future?
