fresh 2009 BM music thread
Apologies if this has already been done - I looked and didn't see it.
After 2008's burn, a bunch of DJs, musicians, artists, and others posted a bunch of their music in this forum. I'm pumped for the new music coming this year and was hoping to burn a CD to listen to on the drive to Nevada.
If any artists have new music, compilations, tracks, entire CDs, or samples to share with other burners, I invite you to do so here. Or you can share links to other musicians' downloadables that are freely available, of course.
My PERSONAL preference is house/drum n bass/techno, and leaning toward long compilation mixes rather than single tracks, but please feel free to post anything and everything.
I'll start off with some 3l3tronic, who can be found at www.3l3tronic.com of course. They're based in Sanfran and you probably heard them on the playa last year playing on the Robot Heart artcar.

Thanks in advance for sharing your new stuff!

Signal Path's new album is AMAZING (and totally free)!
I just stumbled onto a live dubstep/electronic band called Signal Path. I'm not sure if they're performing this year but their new album is SIIICKKKK, and I hope that they do! You can download their new album absolutely free here: http://clash.signalpathmusic.com
I have loads of house mixes...and some live sets from the past couple years playing @ Root Society:
hit up the link in my tagline below->>
Also a buddy of mine is playing with us at RS for the 1st time this year..he has some dope mixes you can d/l here:

Thanks SDG, I'll check out your links next.
Just out of curiosity, what exactly would you call Signal Path's style? (Just so when people ask what type of music I like best, I can tell them more than "electronic".)
Great cover design imo.
Wow, wow, wow! I listened to the whole thing, and downloaded all but 2 tracks. Instant favourites! Very good stuff, right up my alley. Thank you very much for sharing that link, and thanks to the bank for making good music and sharing it freely. I'd say it's ten times better than any crap you have to pay for at the "music" store.dubstepper420 wrote:I just stumbled onto a live dubstep/electronic band called Signal Path. We're from SF, have been to burning man and are back again this year (actually still looking for somewhere to play if anyone is interested).
We're a pretty well known drum n bass act and have a ton of mixes on our site www.bachelorsofscience.com ... you can also check out our album "Science Fiction" which won best Drum n Bass single last year in the Beatport awards.
Hope you like it!

Hey Y'all!
Fort Knox Five will be playing this year at Root Society I believe... Fantastic live funk/organic dance band. Also, I was told Santiago and Bushido will be out there as well and will surely be playing... they're a fantastic electro production duo that's been kicking ass lately; they had a track called "Head Trick" out last year that spent 3 or 4 weeks at the top of Beatport's top 10. Great guys and total virgins. They're gonna flip. *evil grin*

Oh also I have a bunch of untzy mixes for download at http://djnatemanic.podomatic.com - there are some great energetic mixes on there (techno, tech-house, acid-house and prog, live sets from Midwest BM regionals) as well as some downtempo mixes, one of which I made for the burn a few years ago.
I'll be playing at our camp and we'll have one or two soiree's throughout the week- we're the Bad Advice Bears, come visit us!

I cant' wait to see Fort Knox Five -- I play them out all the time, & they're amazing. A great funk band.
If you're looking for one-hour-plus mixes of house, funky tech house, & prog house, I have about 90 up on my website, or just search iTunes for GROOVELECTRIC.
I'll be spinning on the Playa at the Duck Pond (Tues, 5-7 PM) and all night on the Nautilus X art car (Friday, 9 - ?). See you there!

go to the deep end website and you can download every hour set of every day...it kept me sane while living in the Palouse last year...

sorry, can i say this?
fuck a bunch of dub...
gimme some funky-ass house and I'm happy, I'd rather die than listen to what my bowels might sound like, which, although I don't know from experience, is what dub reminds me of...
love you, mean it

Your mix "Slink" is something out of this world!!!! i have listened to it for probably 100 times in last week - and it still rocks as HELL!!!
If you don't mind: i'll play it once on my BoomBox at the playa. I'm planning to make a little bike-towing bar with BBox in it so, people can enjoy a drink with a nice bit.
Keep on a great job!
Life is damn beautiful to live it short
here's a little breaks mix that i made a couple months ago. lots of bass and picks up the pace as it progresses. hope it gets some of you excited on your drive out to the black rock :D

I've started a group on Soundcloud with Burning Man-inspired musical mixes at http://soundcloud.com/groups/inspired-by-burning-man . They are free to stream or download and others can pitch in their musical offerings here too.
Instead of emphasizing the electro-house-rave-techno aspects of BM, the mixes in this group aspire to be evocative playa nighttime soundtracks made up of all kinds of music that infiltrate our daydreams of the the desert -- world beat, ambient, freak folk, glitch, mash-ups, free jazz, etc. Hard to describe, but they are on the long side and aim to tell stories through sound.
Dig it. Dug?

THAT IS THE SHIT!!!
mmmmm....cant wait to put it on at our little bar.
Early in the morning ...on a sunrise. When the colors just start braking through the blackness of the desert. Just sit on the playa floor and stare at that horizon line, waiting when the first beam of light will rush through the space into your eyes... And some nice espresso that we are planning to serve for all of the 24hour-monkeys... with a touch of brandy and whip cream ...or a pipe... or... who gives a shit where, what and how on the playa you are...
Thanks for the post !!!!
Already on my music playing device !!!! Very nice mix! definitely can see us rocking to it on I-80 in a van full of goods, crap, bikes, coolers, costumes, empty RB cans ...glia wrote:

EDIT: Wow, sounds great so far! Yes, this is definitely what I had in mind. What "kind" of electronic music is this? Totally reminds me of the audio porn I heard for a week straight last August! Mmmmmmm!

I just did some research and they dont have dates listed on their myspace during BMan, so thats hopeful.
Just found out that March Fourth Marching Band will be playing Center Camp on Wed and Fri @ 9pm. Im fuckin PSYCHED. ALBINO is taking a year off, so this is the perfect antidote to those who want some horny horns in their life in BRC. One of my favorite moments last year was catching March Fourth in the middle of the playa, swweeeeeet sweeeeet stuff, so much fun, and a wonderful break from the crunky whompus untz untz! I love the electro sounds of BRC dont get me wrong, but hearing the horns really gets my ass shaking.

oldschool funky or deep house search
some one said they love funky house and im with the best oldschool group, come to Pink Mammoth at 830 and around g i think. oh DAY party, wear pink.
Also if anyone knows where there WONT be the overwhelming 'normal' hard sounds as in dubstep techno breaks etc etc, or more mellow house, please let me know. i got the roots dude for tues night. but i cannot even get too close to the esplanad on fri or sat night , so i would really REALLY appreciate any info on oldschool deep or funky NON electro breaks fast hard progressive techie stuff.
Yes im in a huge minority. SIGH.
disco, funk, groovy downtempo, afro funky disco house is all good under 125 bpms.

Trishya-- I'll be spinning what I call New Old Funk (house & tech house with a nasty old funky sound a la P.Funk/Sly Stone) at The Duck Pond at 9:00 & Plaza on Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
[EDITED -- I pimped one of my podcasts but then saw that I already did it in an earlier post. Don't want to spam the thread]
See ya on the playa!
