Golden Cafe

Postby Lucifer » Fri Mar 06, 2009 9:03 pm

The Golden Cafe (http://www.goldencafe.org) is a cocktail lounge and live music venue in its 7th year. Our emphasis is on improvised music and jam sessions, covering all styles and genres, but we've been known to host other forms of performance as well. For 2009 we're also introducing recording and webcasting facilities, to give the default world a taste of BRC. If you're seeking an intimate venue in which to connect with your audience and with other performers, we invite you to drop on by.

Light and heat,

Nautilus X & BM 09

Postby CaptainNemoOfTheNautilusX » Wed Jun 24, 2009 6:51 pm

Ahoy Burners!
The Nautilus X will be returning to the playa this year with our 6th voyage out to the burn. The Nauty is a refurbished fully functional 60' MAN coach that operated along the 38 Geary line for 18 years in San Francisco. She was the last one of the MAN series retired from MUNI's articulated fleet in 2002. She is reborn as a deep desert exploration submarine entertaining while safely touring the playa art.

We are seeking Bands, DJ's, and Musicians that are confirmed to go to Burning Man this year and would be interested in performing onboard. We will venture out with nightly tours of the art with a constant flow of new BRC guests.

All performances are from the "Warped Core" which is the according central round section in the middle of the vehicle. The is an interesting area, as both ends move it remains an inertial calm zone. We can accommodate DJ's and bands with up to 4-5 members.

We have a sound system with internal speakers and a vinyl table set up with the option for plug input for other systems.

If interested please contact the Nauty Cruise Director at nautilusxproject@gmail.com

Thank you and see you all out on the playa!!
Next stop Black Rock City!

Hey peeps, Root Society is looking for Visual artists to perform with us at Burning Man 2009.

We have a great visual set up, with a couple large screens, an awesome sound system and a great line-up of DJs. Past guests on the decks have included Jelo, DJ Dan, The Scumfrog, Bassnectar and many others.

We have a theme for this year Neo gothic, and will be looking to fit visual performances into this theme while keeping in mind the overarching theme for Burning Man this year "Evolution". We are looking for experienced VJs to help us blow out the visuals in grand style. We mix from sunset to sunrise from Tuesday through Saturday night, we will have at least one V4 mixer and two DVD players to accompany. (Bring your own gear and plug in, or just bring discs.)

Burning Man is a not for profit event, and thus none of us receive payment, but if you are planning to be at Burning Man and want to jump in and mix a visuals set, please send a demo reel to autostile@hotmail.com Or send us a link to your website. Also, please send us information about styles of music you like to mix with, how long of a set you would like, any special equipment needs and anything else pertinent to performing (in particular your ideas for imagery that fits the Evolution theme), we'll do our best to slot you in !

Madis Playa Choir Seeks a Soulful Groovy Rhythm Section

Postby mamasaid » Thu Jul 09, 2009 10:06 am

ATTENTION DRUMMERS, BASS PLAYERS, GUITAR PLAYERS AND OTHER RHYTHM INSTRUMENTALISTS...

This is Madi and I direct the Playa Choir. I am seeking a rhythm section for my choir this year.

Our rehearsal and performance will be at Jazz Cafe, where they have a house drum set, and house amps...(and power)

PLease see the post under 2009 art and performance for more detailed information...

If you are interested, please send me an mp3 of your playing.
You don't need to read music, but you MUST have a good ear, be able to pick up the music fast, and have a passion for gospel/soul music. And showing up to two rehearsals and the performance is also key to the music!!

I hope to hear from you....

Calling all classical musicians: Automatic Subconscious is reviving its Early Risers' Classical Cafe. Imagine live classical music wafting through the morning desert air, with fresh coffee and tea for all who care to wander in. We need YOU to help make it happen! If you (or your group) are interested in performing a set, contact me, Bethany, at automatic.subconscious@gmail.com .

You will need your own instruments, although we may be able to provide music stands. Sets will be scheduled between 9-11am, Monday through Sunday. Please let me know if you have a scheduling preference. And spread the word!

Tikidom Performance Space

Postby stevensoll » Sun Jul 19, 2009 12:45 pm

We have a dome providing an intimate indoor setting. We'll provide a PA w/monitors, basic drums set, and a guitar amp. You bring instruments.

We want to book ahead of time for tuesday through friday nights. 45 minute sets.
Also open jams for a couple of hours in the afternoon.

Our intimate space will lend best to acts that are not real heavy.

Should turn out to be a really fun little venue.

email drumstick101@gmail.com subject line Tikidom Gigs

BM Bicycle Music Festival

Postby kipchoge » Sun Jul 19, 2009 2:32 pm

My band, the Ginger Ninjas, is putting on a bicycle music festival on Friday, all day/night. 15 acts will play throughout the day in four different venues on a cranking pedal powered sound system. After several sets at one venue, the show packs up for a cruise (with live on bike performing) to the next adventure/stage.

If you have an act, and you wanna bike rock with us, let us know.

If you have a venue that you think would be ideal for an on-the-spot stage and a couple-few-several hundred audience for a couple of hours, let us know.

Check out what bicycle music festival is about: gingerninjas.com/bmf

peace,

Moved for Llisad:

Hair of the Dog Lounge is a place for you to showcase your talents. We have a complete stage setup and a few playa instruments, or bring your own. We usually don't schedule performances, so just stop by. We are in Silicon Village (probably near 6:30 and C). However if you do want to schedule something, let us know. Collaborative jamming is encouraged. Please be respectful of others who are waiting to play. And rock on.

Camp Welcome
Greetings and WELCOME to our camp! It gives us great pleasure knowing all visitors receive the utmost hospitality and leave with a feeling of gratitude. We cordially invite you to attend our daily happy hour, followed by "Open Mic Nightly" let's entertain BRC together!
Hometown: Reno, NV

Stage is in a 24 ft dome, we got the mics and the speakers and some instruments. Just looking for anyone that would like to play your instrument, standup, spoken word, dance type of deal, whatever. Its only for an hour or so every night around 6 and we like to give many people a chance to perform so a DJ set is hard for us to accommodate. Just show up, no booking or schedule, get some drinks also! We are at 2:30 and Evolution, the ring that surrounds center camp so don’t get the 2:30 mixed up with the actual 2:30. Hope to see you all out there.
I will be the one with the bullhorn - Dyce

I have played HOTD several times! Always a wonderful dusty time. But I am confused by the location, 6 and DNA, doesn't that put you IN the Center Camp circle near BRC info?

Plan to see you there Lisa,
