What can be done about getting Dr. Suzy Block to Burningman?

Postby DVD Burner » Sat May 17, 2008 11:54 pm

I was shocked to find out last night that Suzy has never been.

THIS IS JUST WRONG!

I dont just want to try to convince her to go. I know she could be there if at all possible this year.

Any suggestions?

Would you email me the link?
Why can't you say why?

All I can find on the netweb is that she seems to have provoked the christian taliban in some way, which gives her credibility.
I can't figure out what they're on about though.

i'm like a 1/4 bonobo with some chimp thrown in and my moms side were certainly baboons and mandrills, hot tempered primates that they are.

i know this guy, he's like SUCH a bonobo....i always thought it was because he was a rave kid and constantly on E.....

nope, he's just a horny little fuck monkey.....

Ok, now that I am awake after us being up all night discussing why they wont come to BM, I'll post an answer.

They have environmental issues with BM.

Why would any Burner care whether Suzy Block comes to Burning Man?
Why would any non-Burner care?
I don't get it.

And fuck anyone who has "environmental issues" with it unless they are consistent and don't do anything else that is worse! I'll bet you could easily bust the bitch on her own carbon footprint.

Once again, most of what I've seen about the environmental impacts of the event is either "we want our special place not to be invaded by hippies" or is utterly without analysis and doesn't compare it to other vactions that participants would take instead.

Why can't she just admit it doesn't appeal to her and leave it at that?

Bonobos are a rainforest, not a desert species. Will this have something to do with Dr. Block's Free Handjobs for All Initiative?

So someone none of us care about doesn't want to go to Burning Man.
Good.
Problem solved.

And hey, DVD... no offense intended, but before you worry about trying to get other people to come to the playa, why don't you even go yourself?

Why?

I admit, as a somewhat engineer, and, I have been consistent on this site for about 5 or so years, I'm sorry, but I do agree with them and have stated so on eplaya and/or at least stated so in so many words in that amount of years.........it is a problem that can't/can go away unless.......

BM should and can be a leader.

We all know that American politics wont solve the problem.

BM has the....THE best minds on the planet to resolve things and still have a great time doing it at the event and there of.
For example, air cars. Electric cars that go at least 300 miles and more.
You dont need to buy the car, why not just make it in a creative art form?
Bio is only one source of energy that is somewhat primitive as far as I am concerned that is of a contribution.

I know BM has a wind source of energy plan they contribute to but............................It's not enough.

Many have posted as such in the Chicken John thread to Larry Harvey last year or so.

We do our part (suzy and we.) ...As best we can but BM can master it and make an impact, not to mention a difference in the world. They do have the power and wealth of knowledge. lets face the facts, unless you are on this planet with "the dooms day approach" to things about this world, Giving up as far as I have known BM and Cacophony, just don't mix and have both, not that sort of thing in their blood. Both are notorious for making the impossible to the limit, the norm down the road happen. With the creativity that is involved, who knows? it could be all of forgotten about, the carbon footprint thing, with only left to think about nothing else but having fun and being proud of it.

Just sayin.........

Oh and hey, When the time is right, ( I know.....sucks I have to say this but it is the truth.) I'll get to the playa, relatively soon.

(So many things to see and do and get to BM. at the right time no less.)

Timing just has not been right for many years, but I still keep getting new Burners from all over the world.

It really is my purpose in life.

That also includes the obvious title of this thread.

i like to stay on thread topic......YO!

P.S. And Hey, If anyone wants to see/meet me in L.A. lets go for it. I'm here after all.

I still don't understand why they don't want to go??
What is your objection?
What are you suggesting?
If they don't like something, why don't they get involved and do it differently?
Even the hare krishnas do that.

Do you know something about electric cars we don't know?

Why do people here on eplaya seem to be upset with me about going or not going to BM?

I've been many times, especially at the beginning, and have had a great time at the decompressions and hangin with the Burners I meet wherever I go all around the world that understand why I didn't or haven't gone this year or that?

What up wit dat?

I don't care if you go or not.
It's just so conveniently adjacent for you that you should.

Were you going to email me a link for that new site? I'm curious.

I try but every year has been something new.

i cant pass those up.

Just the way it is.

But I would love to get Suzy and the crew up.

They are awesome.

They take real good care of me so far. And I have been here less than a week so far.

It's a great story.

I should add, that everything that has been going on in my life from the day I stepped on to the playa has been because of the playa ever since.

After all, I am with Dr. Block.

We/I had an exceptional day Technically and in an engineeringly, Coder way.

Is it a full moon tonight/MORNING!

Just for later reference.

It's a bump, but I'd like to later say something in reference to this.

I'm gonna try to enjoy the last of the wake time I have.

It's been a long not even full week.

I wasn't throwing mud at you (nor did you seem to take it that way) but it was a real question, so I carefully read through what you responded with and wasn't able to get a clear picture.
Are you saying you don't come because of "environmental issues" too? Or because we aren't the politically or socially active entity you want it to be?
People, myself included, have pried so many times because you're somewhat evasive and vague. After several paragraphs about it, I'm still totally baffled.
We're so curious because you seem so preoccupied with it yet don't even go. It's a "thing that makes you go hmmmmm".
