Previous or Final?

Postby jcpryor » Wed Oct 03, 2007 9:17 pm

Well previous is obviously fact and final is completely conjectural. It could be the final burn of all time - for me or you or all of us. Our lives are finite and the future unknown.

But I imagine when anybody says, "this is my last burn", they are describing a true and present condition of the heart. A feeling like a divorce is communicated.

I guess the only question then is whether counseling might help.

It's like getting mad and stomping on your hat.

You mean that doesn't work?!! Oh crap! (Excuse me while I purge my stomach.... )

You have objectified men as horny drones, all desperate for the Queen Bee's honey. I don't think there is much casual sex going on at the Burn, just a lot of prick teasing posing by women too interested in themselves to engage in a physical relationship with a man

The desperate horny male is not a concept women invented to objectify or degrade men. Women see men as "horny drones" because that's how most men act. Horny men have spawned a $97 billion dollar porn industry. The porn industry is larger than the revenues of the top technology companies combined: Microsoft, Google, Amazon, eBay, Yahoo, Apple, Netflix and EarthLink. Every given second - 28,000+ Internet users are viewing porn, 72% of which are men.

The horny drones speak for themselves.

Regarding your complaint that women are just "prick teasing," I have often observed that men misuse the word "tease" to describe any woman who rejects his advances, especially if the girl is dressed sexy. Men who see a scantilly clad woman as an open invitation for sex believe that they are entitled to what they see. And when the girl doesn't give it up, she's a tease or some other derogatory term.

From what you've written, it seems you believe that women should not dress provacatively if they do not intend to have sex with any guy who notices. Am I off base here?

And a good number of women willingly participate in that industry.

(some eplaya slippery slopes, I can never resist)

Seriously? Are you that out of touch with how many women use their sex appeal just for fun? Tons of women enjoy teasing, flirting, getting em all riled up with absolutely no real interest in the guy. Some seem to do it as a way to check out men - like checking out the merchandise, see how they'll respond. Others give the strong impression they do it to feel better about themselves.
To a guy it can seem like "catch and release" fishing. (ooooh. Sorry for the hook in the eye!!)
You learn to spot them eventually, and either play along or avoid them if they seem too flip.

all true, Dana, but I HATE being painted with that brush, because don't and a great many other women don't either. If you or any other man is getting that kind of attention, well I don't know, but it's not up to me to stop it. And there are plenty of times when I feel over looked because I don't play that game. so there are times when I find that men are very stupid and have a poor sence of self preservation.

My observations only.

I'm reminded of that dumb book that came out a few years back - The Rules Some women loved it because it taught them how to play "the game" better. (They don't trust themselves or men....) Others hated it for similar reasons.

I always thought that women were most attractive when they were just very alive, relaxed and themselves - no games. Part of what makes some of the times at BM extraordinary are the occasional interactions totally devoid of games, honest, direct, uninhibited.

and about them brushes.... don't we all get painted from time to time.
Maybe use a very fine brush with a fine tip, sort of minimalist.

This cool guy camped next to me this year (Rich , I think) was saying how it is nice old people like us are accepted at BM and I told him just watch it, they are all waiting for the "creepy old guy reach-around".

Hey I didn't say OLD creepy guys-I just said creepy... I love all you old guys-Heck I'm old-(1964 Vintage) even thur I don't look it or ACT IT..

and I'll almost always stop and hang out flirt, dance, drink, take pics or just cause trouble (thanks I carry my own booze if I'm drinking)

What I don't like is when you take my friendlyness as I'm gonna have SEX with you-cause I'm dressed sexy....

Creepy guys can be any age-they are the guys who follow you around at the dance clubs stand 3 feet away-when you turn around to smile or talk to them they run off-wait a little while and then come back to stare some more...

Or the guy who says he will come to ride the roller coaster with ya...then insists that you cut threw other peoples camps and keeps trying to pull on your arm to do so...I ditched him-to find him waiting at my camp for me 5hours later...Scary-makes me glad I camp with a 6'6" Vicking...

Or what about the guy who is proud to show his WHITE POWER T-SHIRT??

Or what about the Jerk who GIVES YOU A T-SHIRT (has you take off what your wearing) you put it on....then he tells you that you have to pick out a vibrator go into his tent and let him film ya-if YOU want to keep the t-shirt-then gets MAD when you tell him NO...and makes you give BACK the t-shirt....(then complains to everyone that he won't be able to give that one away 'cause I had It on for a couple minutes)

Sooooo any way ALL of these guys were YOUNGER creepy guys...
I don't mind the freaks that I SEEK-its the CREEPS WHO SEEK ME THAT FREAK ME OUT
If I were to wish ANYTHING I'd wish I were ME!!

It's about time this thread wanders off topic. It's so much of a pointless downer.

Excellent rhyme, Simon, but it still seems so on topic that it's too easy to drag it back.

I like the bit about getting on well with old people. It makes me feel better about aging and how I was a kid I liked to go to the old folks home to listen to the shut-in's stories. Not to say that you're a shut-in by any means - after all, you go to the playa! But the shut-ins never threatened a reach-around. I've enough of young men groping to have the old guys doing it to, since they should know full well they're likely to get smacked if they try. Then again, I probably gotta be careful with that since that might just be what they're after.
It's hard to have a normal conversation with someone with 6' acrylic rods strapped to your back.

Yeah, like every single fucking thread needs to be RAH!-RAH! doesn't it? Fuck you. Someone starts one goddamned thread about why they won't be coming back and you starry-eyed morons immediately jump in with the 'Dude, you're being all negative!' bullshit. You've got the whole rest of the board to jerk off with, but that's not enough, eh?

You guys embarrass the fuck out of me sometimes.
