DECOMPRESSION PARTIES!

Postby gladeye » Mon Sep 01, 2003 3:31 pm

I only got home yesterday but I'm ready for one already. Any decompressions slated for the L.A./So Cal area?

Santa Cruz Decompressions?

Postby jamison » Tue Sep 02, 2003 2:22 pm

I heard there was going to be a decompression party at Red, White and Blue beach north of Santa Cruz later this month, does anyone know any more about that?

It's not listed at Burning Beaches, though there's a film festival at the Rio Theatre in SC on October 4.

decompression benefits

Postby cinnamontwist » Tue Sep 02, 2003 9:50 pm

wouldn't it be good if most or all of these decompressions raised money for the families of the two people who were killed (and maybe for the others injured in the air accidents?) maybe funnelled into a singled fund via Black Rock LLC. . . ?

how we burners respond creatively to these tragedies will show how real is our 'experiment in temporary community' . . .

That's a wonderful idea. If anyone is interested in settinng something like this up, I'd be happy to pitch in. If it fits with the family wishes, perhaps there could be some type of art foundation on their behalf that sponsors future art projects on the Playa.

any hapless victims of law enforcement who are saddled with more than a mere 250 fine would also immensely appreciate some help I'm sure.

I assume there will be numbers soon on all the accidents and the all the arrests and citations issued.

Just wondering...

Is there ever a chance of la/so cal having some sort of "unified" (for lack of a better word) decomp a la SF's? That would be sweet.

(But fior the record, I ain't volunteering to run it. :)

That seems to be the consensus. You can always come to Gigsville's.

Sure, Florida. If Pete can make it down, so can you. Details forthcoming on the SE forum, but we're working on a remote 150-acre location, complete with fire, hangliding, PA, fire, kegs, fire, nekkidness and fire!

(Oh, and if ya wanna be a road sissy, I'm sure Atlanta will be cooking something up as well...)

Most likely between Tampa and Orlando, or just southwest of Orlando (centrally located). There's a rather large tract of land there used for a hanggliding business, and some of the Phlorida Phambly have an in with them. (Hehhehheh...)

Are you on any of the Florida lists? We have people in yer neck of the woods who would love to meet you, I'm sure.
