Tip: bring a light weight Piano?

seriously though I'd suggest a simple structure, to start maybe teaming up with someone who's done a bar before or already bringing one, since organizing/scheduling piano and bar would be quite a task

What about bringing a keyboard? That way, you've got piano, but you also have an organ, tuba, and other effects. If I had a piano bar, I'd set it way out towards the fence, and make it a journey for travelers and art cars to come visit, a nice lounge! :D

My little sis is about the most brilliant piano player I've ever heard, and I know she'd have an utter joygasm if she got the chance to play on the playa again (she got the chance her first year over at Whiskey and Whores). I'm useless on the tips thing, but I would like to know if you manage to pull this off.

piano bar

great idea. a piano should be easy to obtain, transport is an obvious commitment but doable, design for the "bar" and rules of engagement, dedicated players, theme et al... lets discuss!

This sounds so cool. Please let us know where you will be. I have a keyboard you can use if you need one. I love piano bars.

a little OT, but one of the most amazing things I saw last year was an art car built over a golf cart with an elaborate canopy in, I dunno, a Morrocan theme(?) spouting wonderful piano music. I looked over and saw a solo Asian guy at the helm...but no steering wheel, no rudder, no tiller, just a full on 88 key keyboard. Somehow he was steering, starting and stopping while playing the piano on the go. Amazed me, it did.

If someone is willing to bring a piano to The Havana Room, I'd be willing to host regular performances on our stage.
